Poured from a growler into a snifter.
A: Very dark brown. Pours a slight, brown-white head. Dissipates quickly leaving merely a ring around the surface. Spotty but persistent lacing.
S: Very light nose consisting of roasted espresso, and charred malt.
T: Rye bread, and a little licorice with a little peat.
M: Lighter in the body than expected. Very grainy. Pungent dry finish. Kind of an earthi-ness lingers on the palate.
D: Sip and enjoy.
Atmosphere is okay. Slight head, and spotty lacing. Nose is very light but characteristic of the style. Pungent earthy flavor with a grainy texture with a little bit of bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.
Serving type: growler

Rated their blond....can never judge a brewery by just one beer... so I went out if my way to try another. It was fantastic. This oatmeal stout, honestly is one if the best I have ever had. There was a butteriness that was incredible. The diacetyl really worked to the advantage of the beer. It reminded me of the southern tier creme brulee almost, but without the terrible aftertaste, and was more toned down. The finish was very clean, with a nice bitterness and had me wanting more. Very nice chocolate notes, vanilla, almost barrel aged... 9.8% was nowhere to be found, but does begin to creep in as it warms.
Serving type: on-tap
