Served up with possibly a little too much head; it looked like they were having a foam problem on this tap. Transparent copper-coloured body with three fingers of frothy white head. Great lacing but retention could be improved.

Lots of grapefruit on the nose with pine and light tropical fruit. Balanced with caramel malt. Smells like a real IPA.

Nice fresh hops here, with lots of grapefruit and pine again. Subtle tropical character (pineapple, papaya) and nice alcohol. Good balance and fairly bitter; their website lists it at 50+ IBU but I'd put it easily at 70. Grapefruit pith on the finish.

The body is a little too light, carbonation is light as well. Not a bad feel but probably the lesser aspect of this brew.

This is sort of a textbook American IPA, it's got pretty much everything you'd look for. If I have a craving for a hoppy American IPA, some IPAs will satisfy that and some won't; this one does. Nothing to really set it apart from all the other well-made American IPAs but certainly a very solid effort and one I'll gladly order again. There isn't a bottled IPA currently available in Quebec of this quality, I've only had maybe one or two other Quebec IPAs at brewpubs I enjoyed this much. Worth checking out if you find yourself on the east side of Montreal.
