Growler from Midtown poured into a bowled Founders tulip:
A- A cloudy golden orange amber with an eager creamy head that leaves frothy lacing down the side of the glass with a good residual foam.
S - Zesty coriander predominates, with lemongrass, lime, and hay emerging afterwards. The hop/malt profile almost hints at a saison or other style, with caramel and grassy hop tones. The malts give a caramel/biscuity sense, along with some nice floral yeast aroma.
T - Big coriander right up front followed by a pleasant sweetness that gives way to chewy caramel and a subtle hint of gingery vibrancy. There is a pleasant bitter that balances out the beer and lingers throughout, but never do the hop flavors predominate. The coriander really steals the show, limiting the prevalence of other flavors. So its unbalanced, but if you like coriander, quite pleasant. Other malt/yeast flavors are there, but somewhat hidden.
M - Good carbonation, smooth, somewhat sticky mouth, but overall pleasant.
O - A great beer to try, although I don't know how much of it is around. If you don't like coriander, stay away, but if you're a fan of Indian food, etc., give it a go!
