I've been to both the alehouse and the san juan location. Last night I was at the alehouse and I had to choose between Parabola, Sucaba, Bourbon County Barley Wine, etc. I ended up having Parabola. Goes to show what types of beers they have at this place. Both locations are small, not crowded at all, and serve great food. Love this place.
Note: The San Juan location has a great selection, but it is not as great as the downtown location. You won't find parabola, sucaba, etc. on tap at San Juan.

Located on the corner of 156 and Union rd. in Hollister, Ca. This is my local watering hole. I usually come in about twice a week. The place has 25 taps and are adding another 25 in the near future. You can usually find a great selection varying from lost coast's tangerine wheat all the way to deschuttes abyss. The bottles are top notch. I picked up a black Tuesday there, also had fantome hiver and a few Firestone Reserves.
The service is solid. Ross and Rob are very knowledgeable on craft beer and bourbons. The rest of the staff is usually friendly but some have off days. They always keep it very professional.
The food to me is just decent. The burgers are probably my favorite thing to grab there. The appetizers are great. but other dishes to me just lack. the beer may have set the bar too high. Either way it brings me back bi-weekly and I have no complaints. Definitely worth the stop if your driving through. a lil pricey but they get the little things right. Cheers!

Located not too far off the 101 on the way to Hollister. Kind of an odd location in a stand alone building in the middle of some farms.
Walking in the bar is straight ahead with seting and tables located through out. Ther were 25 or so beers on tap, and twice as many in bottles. We had The Bruery Smoke on Wood, and one other that escapes me. We also bought two bottles to go, Knee Deep Cimtra, and Hanssens Oude Geuze.
We had the tri-tip sandwhich and the burger with pastrami. Both were very good and the onion rings were outstanding. Service was great and our guy was very knowledgeable about beer.
Well worth the visit.
