i feel like ive had this before,od, but but i havent. its good, but rather generic for copper kettle. pours pale golden in color with a little cloudiness and a thick white head. it smells like something maybe bull nd bush has made, the yeast strain is identical. its got some pepper in the aroma, and some wheat malt, but also a white wine characteristic. the flavor is well balanced, with the spice from the yeast being the most pronounced flavor in the pot. its crisp and refreshing, and weirdly strong. the alcohol content is obvious here. the feel is great on this one. its got really spirited carbonation over a medium body and is thirst quenching and interesting at the same time, not easy to do. i liked this, but didnt love it. not enough farm in this saison

First off, this is what I love about craft brews. I'm a hop hound, but this beer (along with Colette from Great Divide) has finally got me diversifying...

Very peppery spicy aroma. You see lemon, but taste is subtle spice. This beer reminds me of a good enchilada...not too saucy, but the perfect texture, excellent quality cheese, and just the right kick on the chili...hard to describe otherwise, except that it was highly enjoyable, full yet not heavy, and complex.

Second day out of the growler revealed more alcohol, but still enjoyable...If you do a growler, definitely don't extend beyond 36 hours after the pour.

Rich, fairly sweet, and fruity with a kick.

Definitely a Belgian fruit bomb. Full of spiciness. Long, long fragrant nose of fruitcake and citrus. A Hefeweizen sort of flavor, strong on the cloves. Orange peel and pepper flavorings add to the general intensity. Medium body, nicely beery, but with more taste and less bitterness than many Saisons. Only 25 IBU according to the brewery. This would be a nice dessert or late evening beer.

On tap at the Copper Kettle. Nice yellow color, white head, what more can I say? The smell had a bit of pepper that made me hopeful but then the taste threw me for a loop. The flavor was very heavy yeast with a banana ester type thing happening, very odd and I could not get past it. I usually measure every saison against Saison Dupont which is admittedly a high watermark but this was not even close. Needs more spice and less banana.

Saison is slowly becoming one of my favorite styles, so I had to order a full glass of this.

Served in a 10oz goblet, Savoureux arrives with a cloudy straw tint and a small eggshell head. The head quickly falls, but a quick swirl of the glass brings it back to life. The beer leaves a little lace.

To the nose, this beer is slightly spicy with pepper and clove aromas. A fair amount of straw, plus a light sourness can be sensed as well. In the mouth, Straw and honey sweetness get things going. The spicy clove and pepper bitterness arrives to add some complexity. Things get really interesting toward the end when the beer becomes distinctly sour. The alcohol is well masked, while the light-ish body makes for easy imbibing. A potentially lethal combination for the uninitiated. Finishes dry, sour and tart.

Of the beers had this day, Savoureux was the strongest. A couple of friends even took home a growler. I'm glad this will be available year-round.
