Located close to the T's Kendall / MIT stop which was nice for those of us staying in Boston. This place has a big modern warehouse feeling to it when you walk in as there is plenty of glass, raised ceilings, and leaves you feeling small in such a large space. The bar area is huge and can seat upwards of 50 people. The taps are located in the middle of the oblong bar. There is a smaller area upstairs that has TVs and comfortable seats.
The beer list is nicely displayed on a huge chalkboard broken down by style. There is also a beer menu located on the bar. There were upwards of 70 beers here, and the list had numerous quality beers from the local Boston area and from around the globe. As with other places with large draft offerings, I was concerned about the freshness of the beer. The few pints I had were all fresh.
The service was very good despite the large number of people sitting at the bar. I had some appetizers, including the wings which were quite good.
This was a very enjoyable stop and a nice place to spend a few hours enjoying some pints.

A - large beer hall. decor is to the point and a propos of why you go there. large central bar with enormous tap line. sit down areas fill the remaining space.
Q - brews were all above average to excellent.
S - wait staff was very knowledgeable of beer selection and food.
S - selection was outstanding. offered unusual beers from craft brewers that are not typically seen in beer stores or other restaurants/bars (ie - Ommegang's Sickle and Scythe).
F - in context of bar food, the food was excellent. in the context of a traditional restaurant the food was above average.
V - good value - two people eating lunch and three beers came to $40. Would come back multiple times.

Fun Fact: I don't recall there being any mead.
Fun Fact #2: Beers in Boston are a lot more expensive than I'm used to.
Fun Fact #3: They had a giant selection that was posted on a descriptive, obsessively updated list. The beers were all pricey but that's really my only complaint. There were 2-3 beers for every mood along with a healthy selection of rare and one-off taps.
Fun Fact #4: The service was nice and the atmosphere was nice like an expensive loft apartment-high ceilings, big open widows, well-dressed professionals on their way to and from nice-paying jobs.
