On tap at the brew house.
A - Served a clear dark orange with a small light tan head that moves to a small clump in the center of the glass.
S - Not much here. Mostly bready malt and some very slight orange peel.
T - Again not a whole lot here. Malty, bready, sweet toast, bitter orange peel.
D - Good carbonation with a medium body.
O - Pretty average with a orange malt forward taste.

Nestled in the heart of Washington state's Yakima Valley Iceberg Brewery celebrates all-things-Yakima with the tenacious grapefruit taste and piney bitterness that this hop variety allows.
Upon the pour, the beer casts a dark honey, amber-bronze color with a mildly hopped haze. Capped with a stark white head, the beer retains its creamy foam stance extremely well and decorates the glass with artistic patterns of lace.
Deep malt aromatics of toast, crusted bread, and butterscotch sculpt the bulk of malt complements. But the storng hop rebuttal waltzed in with grapefruit citrus oils and fresh picked pine needles. The overall scent is heavily hop-balanced but with toffee malt aromas that are typically reserved for American Amber Ales.
And those firm malt underpinnings show up front with a terse toffee sweetness, but then drier malt complexities of baked sweet grain, bread crust and dry buttered toast. Heading into the middle palate, sharper hop taste of grapefruit peels, pith and pine resins set in and govern the dryish bitter taste to finish. The taste is a simple hop-forward dialogue of lupulin dominance and malt support.
Medium bodied throughout, the early sweetness is soon supplanted by dry grain textures and smooth carbonated creaminess. Alcohol and hops dry the beer evenly for a smooth fade to finish. A quick and refreshing aftertaste of pine is only slightly interrupted by a mild oily film.
I rather enjoy that Icicle Brewing explores the bolder and more masculine end of the IPA range with it's nearl-Amber attitude. But its a slighly oxidized caramel-malt taste and mild buttery diacetyl note that keeps the beer from what it should be. It's close to Troeg's Hopback Amber if it could get over the hump.

Had at South Bar and Grill in Leavenworth. Really nice golden color with a big foamy head. Aroma is strong pine, hops with a hint of floral notes. Nice hop flavor and a great body. Nothing overdone with this beer. I think even a non IPA fan would find this drinkable if not even a bit enjoyable. Very nice clean beer, very refreshing.

On tap twice over a weekend in Leavenworth: once @ South, once @ a pizza place whose name I forget.
Pours a clear coppery amber leaving behind nice rings of lace that signify a well-built brew.
Aroma is pure hops: pine, citrus, tangerine.
Taste follows nose. So fresh and tasty. Pine without being piney, citrus without being citrusy, floral without being flowery. Tropical, resinous, oh-so-tasty. A blend of biscuity pale and caramel malts bind everything together. Wanted so badly to pick up a growler or two direct from the brewery, but already running late, had to get home.
Mouthfeel is smooth and clean, refreshing, drinkable.
Overall just a tasty IPA, one I'd be happy to drink every day. Leavenworth is lucky to have this brewery.

Had this on tap last night. Appearance was nice and clear.
Smell was awesome, I know I'm going to like an IPA when I smell it and it reminds me of high quality marijuana...not necessarily skunky, just that intense floral, hoppy plant smell.
Taste was very good, lots of floral and citus, just what I like in a great IPA.
Mouthfeel was very nice, drank easily.
Overall one of my top IPA's I've had. I actually had a Green Flash West Coast IPA after this and was disappointed that I didn't just have another Bootjack.

on-tap, at the brewery
appearance: served in a logo shaker pint - a sight for sore eyes indeed in the fiery leavenworth sun. bright golden-orange body, light creamy white froth
smell: fresh cut grass, bright citrus
taste: exceeded expectations - a very well crafted IPA - floral notes, bright citrus - tangerine, grapefruit, lemon. nice bready malt balance.
mouthfeel: light, crisp, pretty on-point for the style
overall: very solid, hit the spot on a hot day after a long hike

On-tap at Jones' Radiator. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a rich gold/bronze color slightly hazy. Creamy white head.
Smell is a faint caramel malt aroma.
Taste is a nice caramel pine flavor. Unusually mild and sweet for the style.
Mouthfeel is a medium to full body. Lighly carbonated. Like a cask conditioned ale.
Very drinkable IPA

A much better than average beer that is well worth the drive to Leavenworth, WA
Appearance is a orange brown yumminess with a perfect amount of head.
Smell suggest a fun ride the hoppheads!
Tast is a fine hoppy bite mellowed by a citrus hint.
Mouthfeel is smooth enough to go down almost tooo easily.
An excellent beer from a small local brewery.

Pours a bright crystal clear amber with orange tint, ample white head with minimal lacing. Smell is pine resin and orange pith. Taste is similar, slight biscuit note in the back really balances the bitter pine bite. Mouthfeel is light and sessionable, highish carbonation, real crisp and succinct, this is a real nice IPA. Could use a touch more citrus in the flavor, but still a damn fine and well balanced brew.

Appearance is a slightly hazy mid amber with a nice layered curtain of lace. Smell having a nice caramel aroma of malt balancing well with the perfumy citric aroma. Taste of the sweet caramel malt that has that nice balance as in the aroma with the citric hops that are more aromatic than bittering. Mouthfeel is medium with just enough carbonation. What I would consider to be a very enjoyable easy drinking and balanced IPA, which can be hard to come by.

A- deep orange yellow with slight translucence
S- strong ctirus and pine hops
Mouthfeel – heavy body for style. Good carbonation, not overly dry
Taste- malt and bitterness in balance, clean dry finish with strong citurs and pine throughout.
Overall – showcases citrus and pine hop notes very well. Excellently balanced Northwest IPA. Deep pine and citrus hop profile without excessive bittering.
