Notes:
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

This Chicago brew comes in a nice pint can, and poured a cloudy amber with a solid sudsy head and thin lace.
Nose says floral with pine and citrus notes. Not bad.
Taste is sharply hoppy, no surprise, with a pine and grapefruit tones, and a substantial malt profile. Threadless is a solid, if unremarkable IPA that remains drinkable and session-worthy, but it's not one I'd revisit anytime soon.

pint can
Pours a hazy honey amber, white film for a head retains indefinitely.
Smells of honey, grapefruit and pine resin hops. Some light caramel and fruit sweetness.
Flavor is potently hoppy and tart fruit seet, like pine, grapefruit and lemons. Undertone of grassy malts.
Medium body with a soft carbonation over the tongue.
Interesting fruity IPA, decent flavor, a bit odd, but good potent hop kick as well. I've had better IPAs, but there's nothing really wrong with this one, so its definitely worth a try.

A little lighter than amber, with a burnt orange bent. Thin little cap holds the bubbles. Laces decently.
Floral notes, orange rind and pith, a little toast, grassiness, and soup crackers. Nice nose on this sucka.
Bitter citrus rinds, hop oils, leafy grind, orange, grapefruit, plummy perfume, toasty malts. Intensely bitter, but cleansing, not astringent.
Burn from a raging carbonation and some fuming booze. Not terribly potent, just that it's intensified from the feel. A good slug provides a good burp.
Pretty solid all around. Have to pick up a few cans.

A: Golden yellow; standard IPA color. Thin, off-white head. Fair lacing.
S: Slight musty aroma mixed with hop florals. Some bready yeastiness.
T: Nice bready malt flavor up front, solid hop finish. Some of the yeast from the aroma comes through near the end as well.
M: On the heavier side of medium. Moderate carbonation.
O: It’s a good IPA. Slightly above average. But it doesn’t knock my socks off. The yeastiness is a slight issue, as with the pale and the blonde. There’s a nice crispness to everything, distinct flavors, nice finish.

This 16 oz. can poured into a snifter.
It ours a feint yellow with low retention. It smells hoppy. Big malt taste and then a very piney hop finish with a boozy after taste that creeps up your throat. I like this beer and the fact that it comes from a can is great for pool season.
