This is a great place to stop in, the staff is all ways very helpful. The amount of supplies that they have seams to grow every time I go in there and they are more then happy to order or locate supplies or equip if they don't have what your looking for. They have different services, like you can email/call in an ingredient list and they will put it together/crush the grain for you so just have to stop in pick it up and pay for it. I have to say that I haven't used that service, but it is nice to know they will do it.
Also if your going to stop in go around the corner to the bakery and pick up a loaf of bread.

These people have a serious passion for all things beer, and you can tell as soon as you walk in and start talking to the owners and employees. They go out of their way to help all customers, from beginners all the way through advanced brewers.
The prices are generally very reasonable. Some things they are slightly higher than average, and other things they are lower than average. They give out loads of free advice though, and that is priceless. Also, they offer a lot of helpful services. For example: if you email them your recipe, they will get everything together for you (including grinding the grains!) and have a package ready to go, so all you have to do is drop in and pay for everything. It's very helpful if you are running short on time.
A little bonus: they usually have samples of experimental homebrew on tap in the shop... make sure you ask for some!

Excellent homebrew store. Excellent location. Ben and Allison have always been helpful with questions, recipes, and equipment. They host informative homebrew seminars as well. Never have I been disappointed. O'Connor's has been essential for my homebrewing over the past year. Cheers!

These guys (and girl) are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their products. They hold brewing seminars on-site to show newbies and veterans how to go about the process of homebrewing. They are attentive and devote as much time as is necessary to hammer out a recipe on-site with their customers. It's great to have this establishment in Beer City USA.

Excellent and fun local store! A month or so ago I was a total noob to brewing at home (and by most standards, still am), but these guys meet you at your level and are extremely helpful in putting together whatever you need. They are eager to help with recipes and equipment and also promote home brewing through their brewing seminars. Beer advocates through and through!

O'Connor's has quickly and effectively planted itself into the local homebrewing community that was previously dominated by one other homebrew shop in the Grand Rapids area. For me, O'Connor's has quickly become my preferred place to shop. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the selection - despite the small store - is substantial. I can almost always find exactly what I need in the store, and if I can't, the staff can easily offer a substitute or recommend something that I could try instead. Any question that I have on any subject (recipe formulation, brewing techniques, yeast management) can be answered by the fine staff at O'Connors.

Really nice little homebrew shop that has gone out of its way to engage the homebrewing community in West Michigan. Based on my observation, a bit more pricey than the other main homebrew shop in town, but service is top notch and staff is a great resource for anyone with questions, especially newer homebrewers. Their pre-packaged kits are better in IMO than anything you will find from the larger companies (i.e. Brewer's Best, etc.), and because they design the recipes themselves many have a "local flair" to them. Definitely worth a visit if you've never stopped in before.

Amazing. Just leave it at that. Locally owned and operated, the husband and wife team of Ben and Allison have done an excellent job, with amazing customer service. Top that with expertly picked staff that they have, and you have a killer shop. I love going in there and just chatting with them, because the knowledge overflows. You can ask them what you need for certain recipes, and they'll tell you. They'll even create one for you on the spot if you want. I can't imagine going anywhere else these days for my homebrew supply stuff (not even Siciliano's). I feel taken care of by them. Thanks guys!!!

As a newcomer to the homebrewing world they were super helpful in helping me out with my recipe. Great selection and very competitive prices with the other local homebrewshops. Staff is very positive and they are an asset to have in the Grand Rapids area. Highly recommend paying them a visit the next time you need to stock up.

I reviewed O'Connor's the other day but incorrectly. Now it seems to have disappeared, probably a good thing.
They are great people. The prices are reasonable. From time to time they hold classes on all grain brewing that took some of the mystery out of the process for me.
I have never had a problem they could not solve. I learn something on each trip to the store and look for excuses to stop by. Cloning some of my favorites is easy because they help with the recipe. Ben got all of the grains ready for me and crushed them so I could go home and brew with a minimum of fuss and feathers.
Altogether a great store.
