The Corruption™ IPA is DC Brau's take on a Pacific Northwest IPA. Brewed with Pale 2 row, C-10, Honey and Victory malts. Exclusively hopped with 40 lbs of Columbus hops per brew to ring in at 80 IBU. "The Corruption" comes in at 6.5% ABV. This beer straddle's the line between IPA and Imperial IPA and has a supportive malty backbone with an assertive hop presence that smacks your mouth with a dank, resinous bitterness followed by pleasant aroma's of pine sap and burnt spruce.

This beer was canned about 3 months ago, but has been refrigerated for most of that time so I decided it would be worth a try.
The beer pours out into Duvel glass a hazy copper color with a 1/2" head that soon recedes to leave a think layer on the surface, some islands of foam, a small ring around the glass with some irregular patches of leggy lacing. Sipping leaves a stream of tiny speckles of lacing with a few legs.
The aroma has some gentle but full, piney hops backed up with traces of caramel malt.
The flavors initially show off a rich caramel malt backbone that quickly recedes into the background the pine and resins emerge into just bitterness. However the malt backbone re-emerges to temper the bitterness.
The mouth feel is on the full side of medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The finish tapers off into dryness with some residual bitterness in the back of the mouth.
Overall this seems a fine example of an IPA and one with lots of flavor, but that said it is not one I'll be seeking out in the future. The bitterness, for my tastes the focus is too much on the bitterness and while it does not rasp on the tongue as some do it also tends to be what this IPA is all about.

Excellent craft beer. Love it cold. Wish it came in bottles, but cans are delicious. A fantastic west coast style IPA. I agree with other reviewers who say that they could drink a bunch of this. All day...great for watching football on Sunday.

Poured from the tap at DCA airport in DC. The beer is a pure orange colour with a foamy head that dissipates after a minute or so. Aroma is piney and citrus peel with a bit of balancing honey sweetness. Nice. Taste is more piney with a bitter kick at the end. Some soap in the mix. Overall, an ok IPA with a great smell but maybe missing a little balance in the taste. I like the bitterness but it feels like it is missing something.

Hadn’t had one of these in a while. Holds up as a very solid west coast IPA, with dank hops and a good dose of bitterness. Underrated here.

Solid look. Clear orange, off white head, lots of lacing. Sharp pine and spearmint nose, with a base citrus note beneath. The taste flips it, with citrus out front, a bit of cracker malt, and a tannic dry finish. A bit harsh, but a decent IPA.

12oz can served in a tulip. Can says 111121 on the bottom. Day 11 of the 12 beers of Christmas from Brewvana.
Pours slightly hazy, amber in color, smallish head that collapses to not much with medium lacing. Smell is piney and citrus, very light breadiness.
Taste is moderate grainy sweetness up front, and then a pretty slow, very strong resinous bitter finish. Pine, grapefruit zest. Very bitter.
Mouthfeel is on the light side of medium and very, very dry. Overall, this is a very nice old school west coast IPA.

This is incredibly bitter. Looks and smells actually more East Coast than West (with which I associate a dankness). I enjoy bitter; I have been seeking bitter for the past year or so as I tire of hazies and NEIPAs. But I can imagine this would be a turnoff to many beer drinkers. To me, it was just OK. This is a combined review from the several places I had it on tap the weekend of October 8, 2021 in hotels and restaurants in central DC.
