A: Pours an orangey amber color with hints of yellow and a half finger head that leaves nice lacing down the glass.

S: Aroma of fruity hops with a bit of pale malts maybe...Citrus with a bit of orange. Also a biscuity or wheat taste/finish.

T: Tastes of citrus and definately a bit of orange in there. Pretty fizzy for a Pale ale. Left a nice lemony finish in my mouth. Also tasted some pineapple in there.

M & D: Very smooth taste with a plentiful amount of carbonation that wasn't too much. Good finish with avery good aftertaste. This could be a beer that I could drink any time of the year--and more than a six pack at that! Emma gave it a thumbs down--i disagree with her.

Let's talk beer for a second.

Appearance: Pours a golden-orange color and capped by a foamy, white head.

Smell: The aroma is a bit meek, but there's some pale malts, orange blossoms, and a remote scent of wheat.

Taste: Flavors tip-toe lightly around the tongue. Gently hopped. Mildly malted. With a mellow, though long-lasting, dry, orange juice-like finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Crisp and smooth, with just the right amount of soft carbonation.

Drinkability: The is the beer equivalent of a sweet, tiny dove. Unique, and definitely drinkable, but the flavors go from being light to nearly transparent at times.

Crystal clear orange in color with short 1/2" white head. The head falls to surface spots in a few minutes. The aroma is of oranges and floral hops. The flavor sports a decent malt level with a crisp bitterness and orange citrus.

Mouthfeel is crisp at the start. The finish is slightly dry, crisp, and the bitterness and orange tones linger for a bit on the tongue. I found this to be more flavorful than the Carrabassett Pale Ale. Great drinkability and a nice addition to the Casco line of beers.

Pours a slightly hazy rich copper with a huge and dense creamy looking khaki head. Good lacing. Smells of hops and pale malt. Lightly bready.

Creamy tasting beer. Lightly bitter. Lightly sweet pale malt. Very British pale ale in style, kind of like Bass before it all went wrong. Mouth is really creamy and smooth. A long low-level hoppines lingers forever. This is a great session brew for sure. Well done.

Pours reddish blonde into my pint glass with a nice, thick healthy head. Aromas of fresh hops, coriander and orange peel waft up from the glass and at first sip, a wave of classic New England brewness washes over me. An excellent brew with good, solid mouthfeel and classic Pale Ale taste. I could see pounding down many of these with its serious drinkability.

I received this with my Microbrew of the Month club. 12oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass

A—medium gold/amber color with about a 2 inch white foamy head, leaves nice lacing as I drink the beer

S—light fragrance with hops and wheat combos and a little citrus.

T—unlike other pale ales I have tasted, seems much dryer and more citrus flavors, also tastes lighter than other pales I have tried, crisp and refreshing,

M—very dry and carbonated, almost like a dry white wine, enjoyable

D—I like this one, a unique experience for me as far as pale ales go. Could easily enjoy 5-6 more. I only received 3 bottles in my pack and they will be gone in a few hours…

A gift from Mr Doyle's BOM club January shipment. Best before 4-9-06.

Pours a golden orange, with a fluffy head that is leaving a splotchy lacing. Nose is malty and nothing much else. Taste is slightly malty but finishes with a big floral hop with a hint of citrus. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth for an APA. Overall drinakability is good. I would estimate the ABV to be around 5. This is a crisp and clean APA that I would recommend you try.

1-finger white head with decent retention, on top of a mostly clear copper/gold body. Sudsy but spotty lacing. Nose is gentle, caramel malt and floral hop. Good carbonation ahead of a thin body, dry and crisp, feels light, goes down with a bit of pineyness, and a burst of grapefruit and a bit of apricot emerges, lingering with a slight grassiness. Solid APA, with a distinct and pleasing profile, though a little thinner than I'd like.

Pours gold/light copper in color. Foamy white head. Smell of floral hops and pine. Taste much the same with citrus, orange and pine. Nice pleasent aftertaste which draws me back for more. I drank three of these, but sure wish I had three more! I guess you could say I like this beer.

Appears a dark gold with a 3 finger fluffy white head that lasts and lasts. Lots of sticky lacing. Steady streams of a heavily carbonated brew.
Smell is of some caramel malt and some hearty hops for a nice hoppy bouquet of an American Pale.
Taste is a crisp blend of light malt with gentle hopping leading to a slightly earty and grassy taste. Hints of creamy vanilla.
Mouthfeel is slightly overcarbonated and slick with a semi dry hop bite at the end.
Drinkability is good.

The date stamped on the side of bottle is difficult to read. Golden color with decent head for a Pale Ale. No significant aroma to speak of, but it has a full citrus hoppy taste. Balanced well with the malt and very drinkable, if you get your hands on a fresh batch. I recommend this beer.

A 12 ounce bottle with best by 11/25/06 stamped on the label. An orange colored beer with a small head. Pretty average aroma, just a mild floral scent. But it had a nice, sharp hoppy taste, very enjoyable. I thought it was a pretty good APA, and will drink it again.

Pours a golden/orange color with a decent head, not much lacing though.

Smell is predominately hoppy with a citrus aroma.

Taste follows-up the smell with hops and a slight citrus feeling. Carbonation is alright for this type of beer and has a dry finish.

A nice clear peach color, the head goes away pretty quickly and it doesn't leave much lacing. The smell is pretty nondescript - an herbal hoppy quality is there along with a bit of a metallic hard water smell and some citrusy hops.

The taste is just as average. The defining quality here is the sharp hop bitterness in the finish, which blends well with the herbal hops. Malt is really nowhere to be found in this brew. The taste is very fleeting and is gone from the palate soon after swallowing.

Mouthfeel is a bit thin but more than acceptable for a pale ale. Its smoothness doesn't disappoint.

Poured a light golden color with a small head that dissapated less then halfway through the glass, No lacing whatsoever.

Smells a bit hoppy and earthy. Maybe a tad bit of citrus, but nothing special here.

Taste is hoppy at first, but not a biting, bitter hoppiness. Earthy taste as well. Very slight citrus notes in the finish.

Feels pretty thin. Im guessing less than 6% ABV. An average APA. I also have a couple bottles of Casco's Winter Port Ale. Im hoping its better than this

Pours a white, thick two-finger head that goes slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is somewhat hoppy. Starts very mild, mix of malts and hops, finish is on the hoppy side but a very subdued pale. $1.35 for a 12oz bottle from RSVP Liquors Portland, Me.

Casco Bay Pale Ale poured a yellow to amber color with a thin white head. The head vanished almost immediately. The beer had an unfiltered look, which did not detract from the appearance. The smell was maltier than anything, almost no hop nose. The taste was light and lacked much character. It was not unpleasant but I expected more flavor and a better aroma from a Pale Ale, this was more of a dark golden ale than a pale ale. What flavor was detectable was earthy and had little complexity. The mouthfeel was thin and watery but not overly filling. The earthy flavor and lack of character make this beer not incredibly drinkable if you started with it. If you grabbed a few of these in the middle of a session, it would probably go down fine. Overall, I was not impressed with this pale. I hold their quality to that of their porter and this does not live up to that.
