Appearance is a murky, cloudy brown - obviously an unfiltered beer. Head is maybe a finger high and tan, with low retention and good lacing.
Aromas are malty and spicy, with hints of cinnamon, orange zest, dark bread, and oatmeal. Hop aromas are earthy.
Taste is malty sweet and zesty. Similar flavors as in the nose, with cinnamon, citrus/orange, nuts, and a little fruitiness. A spicy malt bomb, with only a trace of bitterness.
Mouthfeel is pretty chewy with a medium amount of carbonation. Finish is zesty and sweet.
Overall a curious and enjoyable beer from Calfkiller - I'd maybe call it a spicy unfiltered brown ale...but in any case it was tasty.

Poured from growler. I'm not exactly sure what style this is, but they call it Trail Mix for a reason so fruit beer it is, I guess...
A- Pours a pretty muddled and murky rusty brown color. Has a finger head that dies to nothing quickly. Really not the prettiest sight in a glass.
S- Fairly tame aroma. Definitely get.some sweet banana esters coming through and a little nuttiness. Hard to really pick anything out, but overall its fruity and sweet with some wheat in here I'd guess.
T/M- Trail Mix is the best damn name for this. I get raisins, cranberries, dried bananas, almonds, and a toffee sweetness. All of this is complemented by a nice dunkle style finish from the yeast. Very balanced fruit and sweet malt flavors with again a nice presence of wheat in the flavor. Pretty easy drinker. I would like thee carbonation a touch higher, but that could be the culprit of the 16 hour old growler, so I won't knock it.
O- I like this beer. I get Calfkiller almost every time I'm at a bar where it is available and if this was on tap it wouldn't deter me. Maybe not as good as Serio's or Wizard Sauce, but sweeter and interesting and they did a great job accomplishing the trail mix flavors in a beer- style points to them for this!
