West Coast style IPA brewed with Warrior and Columbus and Cascade hops. Dark gold in color with high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma and just enough malt sweetness.

Flux #27 according to the latest chalkboard at the brewpub. From growler to pint glass this one shows a clear, thin copper color with a fair off white head and nice striated lacing. The aroma brings on a sweet citrus and floral medley that invites sessioning. Simple but quite pleasing. The taste follows suit and offers lots more sweet citrus with a dry wheat and grassy complement to bring plenty of bite. The body is pretty much medium with good carbonation that makes for a crisp but quality feel. Overall this is a perfectly drinkable IPA that delivers solid hop bite and flavor. A happy surprise added to my limited experience with Tullycross, and very encouraging!

On tap. Pours a murky dark orange color with a thin layer of head. Some lacing. Aroma is fruity, with some tropical fruits, namely pineapple and tangerine. Taste is much like the aroma. Citrus and tropical fruit hop flavors but with a nice amount of malt. Juicy. Sweet caramel with some floral hop bitterness at the end. Bit of a light mouthfeel but it works. Easy to drink IPA with a decent amount of bitterness. Overall, worth having again.

Served on-tap in a plain, tumbler pint glass at Tullycross Tavern & Microbrewery in Manchester, Conn. This was named "Flux IPA #17," served 7/23/12.
A: Poured a hazy, cloudy orange-yellow color with a thin, bubbly head of carbonation which left some lacing on the glass.
S: Very fruity and floral with strong citrus notes and bitter hop resins.
T: Sweet and juicy malts rush the palate first, imparting a light, buttered toffee flavor before the mood shifts to more floral and herbal flavors. Rich, juicy citrus flavors from the hop selection (guessing Citra, maybe Amarillo) are light, sweet and pleasing, paving the way for a bitter, slightly hot hop finish.
M: Medium-bodied and relatively light and smooth despite the strong, bitter and citrusy profile, although a bit of resin hangs on and cloys a tad.
O: I enjoyed this installment of Flux IPA and would be curious, as always, to know the hops used in this batch. I would get it again to tame the heat of some buffalo wings or bring out the spice in mustard pretzels.
