Thanks to jcwattsrugger for bringing this back from Virginia for me!

22 ounce bottle, poured into weizen glass:

Pours clouded yellow with a thin bubbly head that lasts for some time before vanishing. Virtually no lacing sticks. Not a good head retention/lacing for the style.

The smell is of mild-ish banana/clove with some wheat dough, a slightly metallic herbal touch and soured pear.

The taste begins sweet with mild banana, some sourish pear, clove, wheat bread, and a tart and citric bitterness mixing in in the spicy-ish finish.

Light-bodied, with carbonation on the milder side for the style. A spicy aftertaste lingers, mixed with some banana.

A cross between an American Pale Wheat and a HW, IMO. Drinks well enough overall. It's different - don't know how much of the pear part I like, and could use more banana character - and could be creamier. I'm not too thrilled overall, but I suppose I could see some people liking this more than I did - it's not bad. According to the label, Weihenstephan yeast strain was used - interesting, that.

Pours a cloudy, reddish-gold color with surprisingly rapidly vanishing head. Aroma is sweet, with faint clove an banana noyes. Taste is wheaty, banana, fruits, slightly spicy at the end. Not as much flavor as some imported hefs, but a nice American wheat.

I had this on-tap at Lee's Retreat.

A: Poured an orange, pumpkin color, very cloudy in its disposition, and with only a slight fraction of a finger head.

S: Not a whole lot, maybe a touch of ginger and coriander. Very understated overall.

T: Very bitter, much more so than most hefes on the market. It did have that standard bubble gum flavor that I've come to expect from wheat brews worth their weight in gold. Overall, though, the flavor was kinda one-dimensional.

M: Like I said, this was pretty bitter, with a lower than average carbonation bill and some mild lacing.

O: This was good, but not great. However, I would definitely like to try this one again. Since it's readily available in my area, I most likely will.

appearance - Cloudy yellow with a small head that didn't stick around.

smell - Wheat, banana, and citrus here.

taste - Has a wheat, and citrus taste here and ends off with a little bit of spiciness.

mouthfeel - Medium-light.

drinkability - Not bad of beer, another good form B&G, worth a try.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a hazy moderate to dark straw color with a nice white head and a good deal of cliny lacing. Nose brings two out of the three usual suspects, as I'm getting clove and banana, but not bubblegum. Taste is clove and banana all the way, keeping a bit of wheat and mild sweetness in the background. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing with good carbonation. Drinks quite well and was nice on a hot summer day.

Poured from a bomber into a Paulaner Hefe glass, a rather dark gold color, that is very hazy. Despite being a light in color, very little light makes it through here. Red tints in the center, and a creamy layer of foam covers the glass.

Aroma is slightly sweet, fresh baked bread, yeast, and clove show up, with a hint of spiciness.

Flavor is quite full for a Hefe, and there seems to be a good amount of unmalted wheat here, as this flavor shines through. Again, cloves seem to dominate the esters, with only a hint of banana. Also, this is just slightly tart, which surprises me, since the nose smells a bit sweet. Finishes ever so slightly hoppy, which is a nice change of pace for a Hefe. Mouthfeel is incredibly creamy and smooth, and drinkability is very high.

Once again, Blue and Gray has not let me down. This is a solid beer that I could drink all night. Plus, at only $3.99 a bottle, you can't complain about the price.

Appears a light cloudy gold. Unfiltered all the way as small bits linger around the bottom of the glass. Decent 2 finger solid white head unfortunately fades to nothing after a minute and leaves little to no lacing.
Smell is of huge bananas up front but seems to give way to ripened pears, blended wheat, and citrus.
Taste is citrusy and creamy with an American wheat feel but there are hints of the German style in there. Ripe pears with citrus again!
Mouthfeel is smooth and zesty with light wheat starting on the front of the tongue and zipping to a somewhat balanced finish that is slightly acidic, hitting the sides of the tongue.

It's ok, dog.

Another new one for me, we brought a bunch over to the fourth of July cookout. Served cold and poured
into a nice tasting glass, this one was consumed on 07/04/2010.

Very nice pour with a light colored golden yellow that came through wonderfully from across the table.
Big head of white caps the top easily and leaves little room in the glass. Nice lacing is left to look
down the sides.

Aroma is light bready malts, hints of light banana, clove, a touch of some light citrus as it warms up
near room temperature. Clean, crisp, and totally seasonable flavor leaves me very, very happy. Nice
hint of clove and light citrus, hints of banana and lots of bready touches as well. Very well balanced
and very nicely done. Smooth, light, and incredibly drinkable.

Overall a very solid offering here and my first from them. I would have no issue with trying this one
again any day.

Wheat golden cloudy body with a copperish red tint and a very light tan and very thick head. Retention is great and the lace is good. Low carbonation.
Nose is sweet pumpkin-like up front, almost with a honey character to it and some banana mingled in.
Classic hefe taste, sweet with clear flavors of bread, wheat, sweet grass and yeah pumpkin too. Very complex and true to the style. Aftertaste is lingering sweet slowly giving way to hop notes which linger pleasantly.
Mouthfeel is yeast grainy and smooth, good coating.
This brew is pure bliss in a bottle.
The yeast was poured in of course!
