This is the 4th Total Wine I visited thus far. They are for the most part, the same from location to location.

When I'm in the mood to try new beers or breweries, I tend to gravitate towards Total Wine. As many of you know, they sell singles! I hate to buy 4/6 packs or even bombers when I don't know if I'm going to like a particular beer or not. So, if breweries have 12oz bottles, I'll mix and match them.

I think their selection is pretty diverse. My one pet peeve is that I prefer if they would organize beers by breweries rather than styles.

There's a walk-in cooler in the back, that is sometimes filled with goodies.

The prices are good. This Total Wine is very similar to the Brea store that I visit the most often.

Overall, this is a solid store.

It is a large liquor store, that just so happens to have a EXCELLENT single 12 oz bottle selection. The best of all the others in the chain that I have been to. Bombers are the rarity here rather than the rule. Staff is almost nonexistant for the most part unless you seek them out. Most of them know more about their wine or liquor than the beer though, so they are not as helpful as they could be.

They've got a great selection of craft beer, even Pliny! Customer service is okay, they'll only say hello to you if they are in the mood. One thing to be careful with is when your buying those single 12oz bottles or cans!!! Please make sure you check those "best by" dates. These guys don't mind selling stale beer to their customers.

Atmosphere is clean but has a super market type vibe. Huuuuge selection but feels kinda like a mega store. The building is large and cannot be missed.

They carry everything from trappist ales to amercian craft beers to MCB... but selection is enormous. They have a full isle for just European beers.

I don't like the service so much. They are always stacking their shelves and it feels like you're always in the way of the shelvers. I don't think I've ever had anyone come up and ask me if they can help. Very corporate feeling.

One thing that is very nice is you can pick and choose your beers to make your own 6 packs.

They don't have food here. They carry MOSTLY wine, and aslo beer and some spirits.

Prices are very good.

Total wine has a very large selection of beer. Though most of it is your run of the mill stuff. They occasionally get pliny and blind pig. They also get a lot of the limited release beers and have them priced lower then most places (especially if you factor in the dollar off coupon from signing up for email list). The biggest bummer about this place is all the IPA that is fading away on the shelf. This place is definitely worth the stop if your from out of town and looking to score a lot of California beers in one stop. And i would also suggest this place over bevmo any day of the week..

Wow this place is great I live in an area that is WAY behind the craft brew world. So when I'm out this way I love stopping by. Great selection of beer separated by styles and a special release/seasonal section witch could be the best part of the store. If your looking for more than beer they have an even bigger wie selection( witch you might haw guessed by the name) along with a good selection of hard alchol. Very reasonably priced more often than not its cheaper than bevmo. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

This is quite a distance from me, but I was picking up some homebrew gear and in the area so I thought I'd swing in.

The store is large and there's a lot of product. They not only have an insane amount of breweries represented, they also carry multiple syltes from each. While they didn't have Russian River, they had Firestone XV, Stone Vertical Epic, Brrbon Reserve, and various other specialties. They were well organized, sorting by Countries for one side and styles on another. It was possible to make "Mixed 6-packs" but it was all individually priced bottles. That being said, I thought the prices ranged from very reasonable to great. I was pretty thrilled by their selection and pricing, and I'll definitely make return trips. I was pleased to grab a 6-pack of Anchor Christmas for 8.19, along with some Tripels and various others.

The staff was pretty standoff-ish, but the check-out gal was nice, and a little knowledgeable about beer.

There's a ton of wine in this joint as well if that's something you're into as well. I didn't really peruse the selection, but it's extensive, very extensive.

Used to trek to Glendale to Red Carpet Wine, btw they have a mailing list i'm on updating their beer arrivals... anyway this is a wonderful valley spot to get a monster selection of mainly west coast and large operation east coast beers. there are a lot of imports but their specialty is american craft beers. Most of the employees know more about wine hence the name total wine and spirits... but they have a walk in cooler with full and pony kegs to purchase and always have blind pig and pliny the elder in stock. great location and guaranteed you can stockpile a bunch of west coast beers to trade with others for rarer east coast beers. Highly recommend, and while you're at it, travel a block to bevmo which also has a pretty good selection and beer tastings on friday 4-7, only $1!

This place is such a gem in the North Valley. It took me a while to go here because I had no idea they had Good beer at first. There is a BevMo literally about a 3wood away which I had gone to for some time. This place Dominates BevMo.

Total Wine obviously has a large wine selection. In fact it's huge. Probably double BevMo. Everything you'd want or need in a Liquor dept. And the beer selection is at least twice as big and better than BevMo.

There beers are separated by style and region which is great. They have a huge Belgian selection. A ton of European and Asian beers. Their US section is all divided up by style which is great and abundant. My favorite section is the specialty/seasonal section which almost always has all the good, new and rare arrivals.

I am here multiple times a week and know when the special beers are delivered so I can Always have a fresh Pliny or rare delivery on dech ready to go.

I love love love this place. I live about 45 minutes away from here but I work about 20 minutes away from here so after work is when I usually stop in and check out the selection. The place has a great selection of Imports and Locals. Monday's are usually the best time to stop in because that is when they get fresh pliny sad thing is is that it is a 1 per customer limit and when you go back on tuesday they are typically gone. Overall everyone is very helpful and the shelves are usually very full so this is a great place to stop in and usually pick up something you have never had

This store is nohwere near where I live but when I go to Northridge I usually stop in just to see if they have anything in that I have not had before.

The store itself is very well kept and clean which I really love. It has a great selection of beer and other alcohols and if your into cigars they even have a good selection of those. It does however have that corporate feel to it and by that I mean employees who dont really know much about their products because they are only there for a paycheck.

The service is ok while you look around every so often someone will wonder by and ask if you need help but your thinking in your head not by you. The people checking you out are nice enough but again they are probably think god I wish my shift was over.

The selection is pretty good actually I picked up some beers from the east coast that I have never had before so I really enjoyed that and their European section is pretty good as well.

Overall if you have the choice this place is the best corporate run store I have been in as far as selection goes but if you have your favorite liquor store just keep going there

This placed opened about a mile from my place, and from the moment I knew they were building it, I kept checking when they would open. I was there the day they did, and got some good grand opening coupons at the time (this was September 2010)

Since that time, they have become my go to spot locally, even though I still check some of the smaller bottle shops from time to time as well. Very clean place, huge wine selection, only .10 cents for a flight when they are doing wine tastings too. The spirit section is well stocked, as is the walk in humidor if you like cigards. They stock very high end products, middle, and BMC as well. All of which is kept clean, rotated, and well stocked.

They hold classes from time to time on beer, wine, and spirits. The beer selection is vastly superior to the local bevmo down the street to them too, and they get a lot more of both seasonal, and limited releases. They impose bottle limits on Pliney the Elder, and Abacus, Lucky Bastard, Old stock, when they had them, which not only do I appreciate, and spreads the beer around, but shows they are tapped into what these releases are. Highly recomended, and I am still stoked this place was built in Northridge.

This is somewhat of a trek for me to get to so I don't go there too often. Walking in the vibe is more like a BevMo. No one really asked me if I needed help, which may not be a bad thing. However, being completely overlooked (had two employees walk by me...this was early in the morning without it being busy) is not what I like. The quality of the store was quite nice - very new looking and up to date. The selection is also pretty good, however, my one complaint is everything (including IPA/DIPA, etc.) is on the shelves. I would prefer them to be in the cooler rather than all the Macros that take it over (again, somewhat similar to BevMo). Again, I wouldn't go here unless I needed something in particular (this time it was to get an Abacus). Still not bad.

Total Wine is my go-to place to buy beer these days. I was thrilled to find that one opened about 2 miles from my work. I go there at least once a week to buy beer or just look around at everything. The atmosphere is that of an upscale wine store that happens to also sell a fantastic selection of liquor and beer too. The store is very clean and well organized. The quality of the merchandise they stock is great. Everything is fresh and up to date. The workers there are very friendly and will ask if you need help. The selection of beer is awesome. They have it organized by country for imports, by style for US craft beers, and they also have a seasonal section for whatever beers may be out for upcoming seasons or holidays. They have a ridiculous amount of beer and some very hard to find stuff too (pretty much all Russian River bottled beers, all Lost Abbey beers, Sink The Bismarck, Tactical Nuclear Penguin, etc.). Prices are the best I have seen around for pretty much everything compared to BevMo and local craft beer shops. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
