Bomber brought home from Indiana.
Appears - nice bright orange; finger's worth head
Smells - pretty standard Belgian light fruity funk
Tastes - start off Belgian Pale abruptly slashed with dry bitterness fading quickly into ozone nothing; complex; stridency mellows as the beer warms
Mouthfeels - appropriate for the taste, my favorite aspect of this beer; paradox of thirst quenching and over dry, keeps you coming back for another swallow
Overalls - nice color, great texture; average on the nose and tongue; nice marketing; worth a try, but maybe not a repeat

Pours out a clear ice tea color with two fingers of very small white to off-white suds. Lacing adorns the glass.
Smell is clove and banana and hop. Everything else is very weak.
Taste is a bitter bite for the initial sip then the next reveals a mellow malty almost sweet flavor that slowly turns back to a black charred taste.
Mouthfeel is somewhat sticky after the initial bitterness leaves the palate. But mostly this beer goes away very quickly.
Overall this isn't my cup of tea. The flavor goes away too fast. Other than that I bet it would be good with pasta or carrot cake.

Bomber poured into a snifter
Representing a local brewery
A- Semi Hazy orange with almost no head whatsoever which i thought quite strange.
S- A lot of wheat notes up front and a nice Belgian yeast character. A citrus fruitiness from the hop and yeast. A pungent smelling brew
T- A light bitterness up front followed up by a wheat character. Belgian yeast is obvious. Hop profile is extremely fresh and citrusy, with a hint of pine. It isn't a strong hop flavor but it is very nice.
M- This beer has a nice feel to it and is very easy drinking. Leaves behind a good bitterness and pleasant aftertaste.
O- A refreshing take on an IPA, quite enjoyed this one. 8 bucks a bomber is pushing it but still a sold beer.

Thanks to phillybeer7779 for sharing!
Very pale color with nice fluffy eggshel lacing
Very little belgian yeast character in the nose, but awesome lime and clementine orange peel oil
Cleanly bitter without any long lasting bitterness. Lots of juicy citrus with a weird phenolic aftertaste (like from the yeast and not hops) that is almost metallic
Very nice little beer and super easy to drink. The label is also dead-sexy

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #55 (August 2011):
Not lacking in head as it pushes past the rim of the glass; pale golden color. Peaches, citric peel, green peppercorn, faint musty yeast, honey malt and a kiss of alcohol in the aroma. Deep smoothness. Hard citric and herbal flavors from the hops; more flavor than bitterness, and the bitterness is not timid. Fresh biscuit maltiness, mildly toasty and a graininess that does not want to leave the palate. Semi-dry finish with some ripe fruit under the grain and hops. Great job from De Struise Brouwers, Louisville Beer Store and New Albanian on this collab.

22oz bottle from beerbeerbeerbeer. Thank you Kevin!
A- Pours an hazy, dark golden color with a full four fingers of white head. Foam recedes leaving sticky lacing. There are some yeasty floaties in my glass that stick to the sides.
S- Belgian yeast, pale malt and citrus hops in the nose.
T- opens with citrus fruit and Belgian yeast flavors. Mild hoppy bitterness mid-palate gives way to bready malt, tangerine and a bit of banana. Finish is dry with a bitter aftertaste that socks around for awhile.
M- Feel is on the lighter side. Carbonation is down right fizzy.
O- This collaboration is pretty well done. The signature Belgian flavors combined with hoppy bitterness and a nice malt backbone make it refreshing and tasty, although the carbonation is a little over the top. This is the second beer I've had from New Albanian and I've enjoyed them both. This is pretty good stuff.

Pours a murky darker golden color a finger or so of fizzy white head. Not much lacing to speak of.
Smells fruity, tangerines. A touch grassy and herbal.
Tastes of soapy tangerines. A bit spicey.
Nice mouthfeel, really well carbonated.
Pretty solid all around.

A - A very nice Blonde color that's a bit cloudy and slightly translucent. A nice thick white foam head appears and some really nice lacing.
S - Smacks you with some pine and lemon zest. Some faint hop & yeast scents along with wheat/barley smells. Very unusual.
T - Some citrus with some crisp pine as well. Didn't get much else out of it.
M - Crisp and well carbonated.
O - Pretty good. But nothing to shake a stick at.

Served this 22 oz. brown bottle in a Tripel Karmeliet glass. No date. This beer is a collaboration of NABC, De Struise Brouwers, and the Louisville Beer Store. The massive head sat on a bright golden body and left clumps of lace down the glass.
The smell is dusty, fruity and bubblegum.
The taste begins fruity then yeasty with a sharp bitterness that softens and lingers a long time. Citrus peel and pear. Belgian yeast dankness without much chalkiness. Mild peppercorns. Enough hops to keep the tastebuds alert. Drying finish.
The mouthfeel was slightly thinner than expected. Smooth with modest carbonation.

Poured into my Grolsch 7oz taster.
Pours a blonde color with a heavy thick like 16 fingers of head. A mountain of pillow on top of my beer. The bubbles are dancing viciously in my glass. Looks really carbonated. Smells semi tropical. Pleasant. And that was the only good thing of this beer. Overly carbonated. The taste was of scented dishsoap. The suds in your mouth of the over carbonation even reminded you of it. Flat out awful. Got through half the 7oz pour and dumped the whole thing out. Major skippage here people.

Pours a yellow hazy golden colour. Lots of white frothy head. Smells nice and hoppy and light. Tastes a nice light hoppy. Cascade is most present on the nose and tongue. Well carbonated and pretty solid. I'm not that blown away by it but it's a tasty brew. Overall something i would drink again but not seek out

A-Pours clear blonde with an inch of fluffy off white head.
S-Light, estery yeast, earthy hops, pale malts.
T/M-Light bodied, verging on watery. Light, soft carbonation. Provides a nice mouthfeel, but doesn't do much to hold all the flavors together. A fairly nondescript Belgian blonde with a faint, floral hop profile. The merging of hop flavors is the best thing this beer has going for it.
O-Not bad, but a bit expensive for what it is.

Pale gold appearance with a decent pinky finger head on top that is full of pretty big bubbles and sustained itself pretty well. Nose is piney - a brash, almost harsh "in-your-face" kind of pine at that.
Taste starts off like a winter white with a little dry sweetness, then the hops kick in at the middle - and kick a DIPA/barleywine kind of hard - before the finish dries out completely and leaves me feeling parched.
I've tried maybe a half dozen domestic Belgian IPAs and liked them all, but this one is the most unique I've tried. Recommend giving this one a shot if you get the chance.

Appearance: A deep, hazy, gold with a striking foamy, two-finger, white head.
Aroma: Spicy yeast, orange, grassy.
Taste: A medley of spices and an herby grassiness, orange definitely there. This might be a good gateway beer for your friends that don't like Belgians, it's just Belgiany enough.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with light effervescence. Leaves dry with a slightly lingering spicy bitterness.
Big fan of this beer. Perfect for a warm July night. And at just 6% ABV you can probably have two before you should slow down.

New Albanian Naughty Girl
Served in New Belgium tulip.
A: Pours clear deep gold with modest head. Some effervescence and lacing.
S: Pleasant and subtle. A little spicy yeast, flowers, orange blossoms. Soapy. Smells more like a nice girl.
T: Not as subtle and not as nice, but that doesn't mean naughty, either. Bolder spicy yeast and flowers become perfumey. The bitterness butts in pretty quickly. It is relatively high, too, and resiny/pine. Spice and flowers join bitterness for finish, which lasts a long time.
M: Medium body and carbonation. Soft mouthfeel. A little drying.
O: Naught Girl does earn good marks for smell and drinkability, but it falls a little short of the better examples of Belgian/American hybrids, e.g. Eben-Emael.

Bomber poured into a Goose Island Belgium Glass
A: pours a hazy golden yellow with a 1 finger white head with decent retention and leaves some spotty lacing
S: dominated by piney and citrus hops, also a hint of peppery spice and bready malts
T: pine and citrus hoppy bitterness, orange peel, unripe banana, yeasty/bready malt, mild hoppy bitterness lingers on the palate
M: fairly light bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish
Overall: nice beer but a little too dry for me, definitely glad I got a chance to try this one
