22oz bomber. No date, but this is a fairly new beer. Served in a tulip.
Pours a medium-dark orangish gold. Clear at first and then cloudy with yeast at the end of the bottle. Only about a finger of off-white foam formed and then settled to ring. Bits of lacing.
Aroma is definitely Belgian tripel, with sweet candi sugar and spicy yeast. The label claims additional hop varietals, and I get some west coast citrusy notes, especially orange and pineapple.
Supremely sweet on initial flavor, there is a lot of sugar in there. Middle is a little spiky and tingles a bit. Finishes moderately bitter. The sweetness never leaves the flavor, as if refined sugar was melting on your tongue. Alcohol sticks its head out in the finish and sours the flavor a little. Not overly harsh, but noticeable.
Medium-full bodied with low soft carbonation. A touch syrupy.
This beer didn't knock me out, but it's an adventurous outing from a new California brewery and I salute that! Looking forward to what comes next.

A: Pours a relatively clear amber with a surprisingly small amount of off-white head. What's there retains reasonably well, especially a rim around the edge of the glass, leaving nice (but not sticky) sheets of lacing.
S: Smells like a tripel - deep sweetness, clove and the standard Belgian spices, though slightly modified, as I seem to notice a hint of allspice as well.
T: Sweet and full. It gets a bit muddled towards the rear of the palate, kind of a woody, grainy, and nearly astringent mix. The overall flavor is nice, though, and that one bit doesn't detract much if you don't focus on it while trying to describe it. The alcohol is pretty much unnoticeable, so this is a sneaky one.
M: Fairly full body, low carbonation though prickly on the tip of the tongue.
Overall this is pretty good. Apparently it's reasonably priced (I got it as part of a monthly club so I'm not sure how reasonably), and it'd make a pretty decent standby tripel if that's the case.

Poured into tulip glass.
Appearance: hazy, golden straw color. Pours white head that fades quickly. Moderate lacing.
Smell: brett, earthy, citrus, lemon, grapefruit.
Taste: estery, earthy, citrus, matly.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied, moderate carbonation, creamy.
Overall: A decent belgian triple. A bit malty but still drinkable. Impressive for the breweries first bottled beer.

Pours a hazy golden color with a medium white head that lingers for a bit. Scent is that of a typical Belgian tripel. Nice golden hoppiness with some zesty spices. A hint of coriander with pepper and Belgian yeast. Taste is just as it smell. A bit more earthy than nose would imply. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a nice dry finish. Drinkability is high. Overall, not the best example of a Belgian-style tripel, but it did impress me for the first bottling of a beer from this brewery. I would definitely buy another one of these.

A-Inception pours bright, clear light amber with a thin ring of fizzy, brilliant white bubbles. Typically beers of this style have a thick, creamy cap of off white foam, so this is a bit of a surprise.
S- The nose brings us back to the realm of the typical Belgian strong pale ale with aromas of golden raisin, clove and preserved lemon.
T/M- The mouth feel and body are much softer and lighter than most traditional Belgian tripels. Drinks like a cross between a tripel and an American pale ale. The typical Belgian fruit esters and herbal spiciness of a good tripel are present, but they’re backed up with a sweet, biscuity maltiness and a dry, hoppy backbone.
O- A dangerously drinkable Belgian strong ale. You’d never know this was 8%. Medium bodied with soft, supportive carbonation.
