Mothers Lil’ Helper pours to an amber/orange color with a nose that is citrus- like and floral with some notes of caramel. The foam level looks nice and it leaves a good deal of lacing as you drink.
Tasting this beer reveals a citrusy flavor with orange and grapefruit sharing the spotlight. But there is more than just citrus- there is also a bready component, a little bit of dough, some piney malt, and leafy bitterness in the finish.
This beer isn’t quite the hop- bomb I was expecting, but it is still a very nice IPA in its own way. There is enough complexity to make it interesting and enough moderation to make it appealing to many who sample. It’s not an amazing IPA, but certainly good enough to warrant a sample.

Short bottle, poured into a 20 oz snifter. Pretty burnt orange / copper color, with a rich, soapy head about 1/2" high. Persistent, soapy lacing with a pleasant, though slightly astringent nose. Featured a nice contrast between a rich mouth feel and a crisp flavor - a very nice sensation. In spite of the thick texture, this beer was begging to be knocked down quickly. This beer is a terrific addition to the local market, and I will definitely purchase again.

Picked this up on a trip through Kansas City. Tasted 22 February 2013.
Pours a medium orangey amber, clear. Half finger of whitish head, okay retention, nice lacing. Not bad, nothing special.
Smell is faint and totally lacking in hop pop or bite. This is an IPA? Could have fooled me. Mild caramel malt background is most of what I get, with a very thin layer of citrus on top.
Tastes like a bland pale ale with a dash of bitter. It's a thick bitterness, weighing down my tongue. Other than that, it's grainy and slightly sweet. Okay; kinda dull.
Feel is fine. Medium-bodied, carbonation swelling up with loads of little bubbles, then drifting away like a receding wash of wave on the beach. Fine stuff.
This is one of those blah IPAs that I think many breweries crank out to fill the style checklist. Not impressive in any way, but I suppose I can tell from the taste that it's an IPA, and it doesn't taste bad. Not one I'd look for again, though, with so many more hop-forward and tastier ones around.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/8/2012. Pours slightly hazy orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, orange zest, floral, orange rind, pineapple, bread, light honey, and herbal earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hop notes. Taste of tangerine, grapefruit, orange zest, floral, orange rind, pineapple, pine, bread, honey, and herbal earthiness. Fair amount of piney citrus bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, floral, citrus rind, bread, pine, light honey, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of hop notes; with a good hop/malt balance; and minimal cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice IPA. Good hop complexity and malt balance; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of pine, citrus hops, floral hops, and sweet malt. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of citrus hops, floral hops, slight pine, sweet malt, and hint of alcohol. Overall, good appearance, body, and blend, but the complexity is lacking.

New brewery to me, poured a stubby 12oz. bottle into an 8oz. cup.
Deep saturated orange color, slowly rising carb streams, a thin layer of creamy foam on the surface. A ring of lace in the glass and a patchy skim left behind after the first couple sips.
Orange citrus, biscuit and caramel malt in the aroma. Light florals.
Light hop bitterness, a little orange sweetness, caramel malt sweetness. Bitterness balances just enough, medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation. Pretty straight ahead, no frills IPA. One you've tasted before and will undoubtedly taste again. Not bad, just middle of the road.
