On tap at the brewery.
A; Pours a reddish brown color with a good head that fades to some lacing.
S: Nice muted aroma of roasted malt, caramel sweetness and roasted malt.
T: Taste is a blend of the caramel sweetness, bit of chocolate and roasted malt. Nice easy bitterness and a clean finish.
F: Medium body, smooth and a bit creamy. Nicely balanced.
O: Good drinker that goes down easy. This beer hit the spot for some reason. Worth checking out.

12oz bottle served in a SN IPA glass
A - Pours a clear mahogany brown with a tight knit tan head. Nice rings of lacing with good retention.
S - Brown bread crust, yeasty, brown sugar, nutty, hints of oxidation, faint herbal hops.
T - Grassy hops are the first thing I notice which were not very present in the nose. Charred/toasted brown bread, some toasted toffee, roasted grainy barley. The cocoa-like bitterness is peppery and rounds out the toast notes well. Finishes bitter and roasted.
M - Moderate creamy carbonation, smooth feel, medium body.
Nice take on the style. Hop forward with a strong toast character.

This brown ale pours from the bottle to a dark brown color and perfect clarity. It offers a nose that is one of sweet, lightly roasted malt and caramel. The foam level is a less than I would prefer, but it isn’t too bad and there is enough present that most will not notice.
Moving to the flavor, this beer is good- tasting overall and like its name suggests, it hits you from different directions because it is supposedly an ale that combines the qualities of three different types of ales into one. The standout flavor is caramel malt, but there are some other flavors present as well, such as chocolate, roasted malt, and toffee. There are some slightly bitter, earthy notes in the finish but the beer leans toward the sweet, malty side overall.
This beer is a little lighter in body than other brown ale, but there is enough good taste and quality to make this beer deserving of a try. I am not so sure I would refer to this as a German Alt, but judged as an American brown ale, it is a good- tasting brew that may not be the most complex on the planet, but still has enough good flavor to recommend.

Picked this up on a recent trip through Kansas City. Tasted 24 February 2013.
Pours quite dark brown, appearing opaque without light behind it. That light reveals red, deep cherry red. One finger of light tan head, good retention, solid fingers of lacing. Nice.
Smell is good. Warm, slightly buttery and toasty. Like a buttery biscuit. All in the malts, and all very smooth.
Taste is where this beer takes a downward turn. It's actually kinda bad. Dull, a touch herbal but almost flavorless, but for an unpleasant medicinal twang. Really not working for me. Not sure if I can finish this.
Mouthfeel is fine. But I want this beer out of my mouth.
Borderline drainpour. Not terrible, but definitely worse than okay. Strange thing is that several elements of the beer are actually pretty good. Not sure what happened with this one.

A - Poured a pretty reddish amber color. It had almost 1 finiger of a slightly offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing.
S - Very light smelling beer. I had trouble picking up much other than a slight malty smell.
T - Quite tasty. I noted hints of caramel and coffee. Thre was even slight chocolate hints. Sweet up front with a slightly bitter finish
M - I found it to be light bodied beer with low carbonation. It felt creamy in my mouth
O - Very drinkable beer. Npt a super complex beer but still enjoyable and I will definately be picking up more of their beers.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 9/25/2012. Pours hazy reddish brown color with a nice 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, toffee, apple, bread, grass, light chocolate, light citrus, light nuttiness, and herbal hops. Decent aromas with good strength and decent balance; too fruity. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, bread, grass, light chocolate, roasted grain, light citrus, and herbal hops. Light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, bread, grass, light chocolate, roasted grain, light citrus, and herbal hops on the finish for a short bit. Good flavor balance, but the flavor robustness is definitely lacking; zero cloying flavors are present on the finish, and quite dry on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a slightly creamy, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a decent brown ale. Very drinkable with solid flavor balance; but definitely could use more robustness of flavors, and a finish that is not as dry. A fairly enjoyable offering.
