Served on Tap at the brewery in LB IL.
Pours a medium copper color with low foam. Some lacing. Light pine tree nose. Taste is a smooth malt with a light to medium hop finish. Bitter progresses throughout. Slightly carbonated mouthfeel. Good bitter in the ale.

look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5
Appearance: Arrives with two fingers of foam capping the amber liquid; very nice retention and plenty of lacing left behind
Smell: Bready and pithy, with a hint of pine
Taste: Opens bready, with a developing pithy character that leaves an aspirin-influenced aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: As I am not a fan of the aspirin flavors that some hops create, this is not one of my favorites in the APA category

Served in a shaker pint glass at The Firkin.
Finally trying a LBBC brew, despite my procrastination in making my way to the brewery itself. Right on. It pours a clear brass-copper topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises grass, flowers, biscuit, and a light smattering of dry pine needles. The taste brings in more of the same, with the biscuit really coming through nicely, and the pine coming in drier, slightly more resin-y. Still, none of the flavors are all that bold, really. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a nearly dry finish. Overall, a fairly solid brew, nothing too exemplary, but an easy-drinker all the way. I look forward to trying their other brews now...

On tap today at the brewpub.
Dark gold, coppery orange. Bright clarity, completely transparent, likely filtered or clarified. Visible carbonation, feeding into a thin layer of white foam on top. Sticky collar around the edges, drippy lace all the way down the glass.
Floral hop aroma, some mild pale malt also. Fairly nondescript and typical for a pale ale, meant for mass appeal.
Flavors were similar, mild floral hop bitterness, some light bready pale malt notes. Body was light to medium, with ample carbonation. Overall decent to good, clean and crisp surely, just a bit predictable. As a "training wheels" craft beer it succeeds, as I saw several craft novices taking it for a test drive at the bar.
