First had: on tap at the Corner Cafe, Tequesta, FL
A good basic APA here. Clearish amber pour with a small cap of white head that displayed a bit of retention and nice lacing. Good melding of citrusy hops and caramel malts in the aroma. Similar taste, nice balance of crisp citrus and earthy hops with biscuity malts that lent a mild sweetness, keeping the bitterness in check. Medium body, easily drinkable. After a small taster, I had no problem going in for a full pour.

Had it on tap as part of a flight and then took a growler home which i'm drinking as i write this.
Pours a very petty amber, darker than your average pale ale, above average lacing.
Pine and a bit of citrus with a nice bit of malt in the back.
Hops are dominant in the entrance, pine and citrus like the smell, a hint of malty sweetness to balance it all out, delicious.
Very creamy for a pale ale, resinous but not sticky medium carbonation.
Overall a very good beer, super drinkable and very unique for it's class. Good job Tequesta, i'll be coming back for more.

Arrives a dark yellow, almost coppery in color. Small head, off-white in hue, drops to a film fairly quickly.
Smell is a piney hops note with lesser notes of citrus and malt.
Taste is aggressively hoppy for a 44 IBU beer. Some searching found some malt and citrus hints to go with the heavy dose of pine.
Aftertaste is a bit more subdued with a little juniper berry, citrus and malt fade.
Overall, similar to a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. A solid, American take on the style without getting all "west coast" on you.

On tap at the brewery, 1/26/12
A-pour is a clear orange amber with a frothy white head. Great retention.
S-biscuit malt with a strong citrus hop note. Nicely aromatic and appealing.
T-hop forward huge citrus and earthy hops but the biscuit malt base is very solid. Excellent balance keeps this in the pale category rather than IPA but this is my kind of pale.
M-medium bodied, crisp, dry.
O-excellent pale ale, love the hops. Great malt balance.

A: single finger head, not too much retetion. Decent lace. Amber and clear.
S: lots of hops and caramel malt. A very complex aroma. Some citrus, mostly grapefruit and pineapple.
T: caramel malt and hops with lemon lime notes. Mild hops mixed in and not too bitter.
M: medium to high carbonation. Medium body.
Overall: not too bad. A unique barleywine for sure. Very drinkable for the barleywine genre.

A - pours with one finger of white foam on a clear, copper colored body. The head settles slowly and leaves light lace.
S - caramel, toffee and some light pine hops.
T - caramel and toasted malt up front. Some pine hops show up in the middle. Finishes with more toasted malt and moderate bitterness.
M - medium thick body, moderate carbonation, and a somewhat sweet finish.
D - drinkable, a very solid pale ale. nothing exciting, but nicely done.

On-tap at World of Beer Coconut Creek, FL
Every chance to get Florida Beer on Draft (in Florida) I try it, especially when its such a new brewery:
A- Great orange amber hue with translucent light penetration. Bubbles run thru the beer to a thin 1/4" bubbly yellowish head. Dissipates but carbonation leaves some lacing while cold.
S- Spicy, citrusy hop scent but not overpowering.
T- Follows smell comes on medium hops and mid-way goes to the more bitter side of a grapefruit flavor ending on a very hoppy bitter note. Although I appreciate this flavor, it wasn't what I expected with the barley and description of it. Not much grain/barley or malt balance to the APA except at the start of sip.
M- Thin body ale w/ good carbonation, best while still cold. Dryness also adds to bitter hop finish on the back of the tongue. would like more malt or barley to thicken the body.
D- If I was looking for a great hoppy beer I would drink this again for sure. That night though I wasn't totally expecting it to predominate in this brew.
Keep sending WOB your kegs tequesta, they're much appreciated!

Poured out of a growler into my Duvel tulip.
A - Nice light golden pour with about a one inch white frothy head. Spotty lacing left down the glass.
S - Just a bit of spiciness in the nose to start. Follows with a great floral smell and what appears to be grapefruity/piney smell.
T - Very creamy right off the top. First thing I noticed was a nice citrusy bitterness from the grapefruit. You get a great malt sweetness right behind it. Seems to be just a touch of the spiciness in it as well that is very pleasant. Lingers just a bit then disappears.
M - Light and crisp mouthfeel. Nicely carbonated. Light bodied.
D - Very high drinkability. Goes down extremely easily.
* Reviewer is a total homer for TBC brews. Matt the brewer is the man. Reviewer suggests you go and get a few beers and try them for yourself.
