High water campfire stout
Enjoyed in a shaker pint. This is apparently a chocolate stout brewed with marshmallows and graham crackers.
Everything about this beer screams s'mores. Dark chocolate brown, like melted bars. One inch of foam the consistency of marshmallow froth and the color of graham crackers.
Big sweet marshmallow nose, with a touch of roast that makes the mallow seem like it caught fire. A bit of milk chocolate.
Same deal in the flavor. More earthy hops here, but the same cocoa sweetness, mellow mallows and smooth roast.
Thick, viscous medium. Medium prickly carbonation. Just a touch of fizz.
Super solid, this beer brings me back to camping. A great combination of flavors.

Paid 8.99 for this bomber and it was gimmicky enough for me to drop the coin. Also it got pretty great reviews.
A - Wow such a thick dense stout for under 7%. The head is just a 1/4 inch that fades out rather quickly but it did have a nice mocha hue to it.
S - Ah cocoa nibs always smells nice in the glass. Also greeted by a vanilla like sweetness similar to a marshmallow and a bit of smoky like campfire with the roast. Not getting much gram cracker but I am sure its in there.
T - Let it warm up a bit first... Mostly getting a bit of ashy smoke with little sweetness, some hop bitterness and a touch of acidic twang. Far from what I expected from the smell. I am deeply saddened to at least not have a strong chocolate aspect considering it smells of strong cocoa nibs. The smoke flavors really stick to the palate to boot.
M - Has a somewhat creamy body despite the heavy ashy flavors. On par with the style.
Overall I am not sure where everyone is getting all these awesome flavors to me it taste like licking a charcoal briquet. Even if it was just a smoke stout it would fail at being just that since it's not very balanced...

Had on-tap at the Sports Page in Roseville, CA
Appearance - Served up opaqe black with a light tan, finger width head on top. Good retention. Leaves behind a fair amount of lacing on the glass with good stick.
Smell - This stout is infused with graham cracker and marshmellow: it shows. Somewhat smokey as well. Huge chocolate character. Lesser notes of coffee.
Taste - Follows the nose. Sweet chocolate at the forefront, complimented by moderate smokiness and hints of graham cracker and marshmellow sweetness. Traces of coffee roastiness hit near and roll into the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with lively carbonation. A touch sharp on the tongue, but goes down and finishes with decent smoothness.
Overall - Highwater really nailed this. They took a gimmicky concept, put it into a bottle and made a respectable stout. That's rare to do. Great after a glass, but I'm not so sure I'd wanna session this due to the sweetness. At worst, it's a fantastic dessert beer.

Formed two fingers of tan head on a pitch black body. Looks great.
Well, it smells like a campfire: chocolate, marshmallows and coffee. Impressive.
The taste is roasted malt, a touch of chocolate and coffee, and a mild bitterness at the end. It's complex.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation and a heavier body.
Here's a well put together ale.

Got this one on a tip from a local distributor while on a trip to CA. 22oz bottle...
A: Pours a deep dark black with a tiny khaki colored head that fades quickly to nothing. Decent.
S: Starts with a smell of marshmallow and vanilla upfront with some chocolate / fudges notes blended in. A breadiness toward the back. Good.
T: I get a watery chocolate upfront that fades into a marshmallow in the middle with the marshmallow lingering through the back while a minor coffee smoothness comes in. Interesting. Kind of like a watery smores. Good.
M: Medium body with a good carbonation. A dry watery finish. Good.
O: All in all, this is a good beer. I was expecting more, but not bad by any means. I was just hoping for great. It definitely has a very marshmallow taste, but a little too light of a body for what this beer is trying to be IMO.

Dark brown, almost black with an off-white to tan head, moderate in size that dissapates quickly. Not much in the way of lacing. Looks like a pretty basic stout, a kind of flat one I suppose.
Woowie, super strong smell of chocolate, vanilla, graham cracker and just plain sweet malts. Smells like dessert, one I want to gobble down in short order. I do wish there was a tad more of roasty malts thrown in there too though, so it doesn't just smell like dessert, but damn it sure does smell good.
Very similar to the smell, and much to my surprise and pleasure, it isn't too sweet or artificial tasting. I definitely taste the stout in there - yes, the roastiness is a tad buried, but the chocolate, graham cracker, marshmallow flavors really work nicely here with the style and taste fresh and well done. This is one tasty trest, I have to say.
Slightly thick, moderate carbonation, smooth - like a milk or oatmeal stout. Feels every bit like a stout the way I like to feel it in my mouth.
I had no idea what to expect with this one, but I had to try it. It was well beyond my expectations - super tasty and actually works. Yes, it's super sweet, but no more so than any good chocolate sweet stout - they just add a few more things in there, but add plenty of roast and hops to tone it down. I think the only thing that would elevate it to amazing for me would be just a touch more roast, a touch more bitterness - but not much. Really enjoyed this one a lot, and I wouldn't hesistate to recommend.

Poured into a Maudite snifter. Pours a very dark brown, appearing black in the glass. Thin light brown head dissipates slowly into a thin film and ring around the glass, leaving light lacing. Aroma of sweet and toasted malt, vanilla and chocolate. Flavor follows with toasted malt, sweet vanilla and chocolate, finishing a bit dryer and roasty. Medium bodied. Flavor is a bit thinner than I expected, but pleasant flavors. An interesting take on an American style stout. I was hoping for a bit of smoke from the name, but still enjoyed this.
