Parish Dr. Hoptagon is a badass Black IPA. Pleasantly offensive, this serum is bursting with bitter hops and black roasted malts. If you prefer weak, yellow beer or rainbow pooping unicorns, leave this web page and slowly back away.

Thanks to nolahophead for this beer. 12 oz. bottle consumed while watching game 7 of the World Series. I’m really glad I don’t care about either team.
The pour – WTF? I assumed this was a big IPA, instead, I’m treated to a pour of Dr. Pepper. OK, read the label, anything with ‘rainbow pooping unicorns’ on it has to be good, right? Smells like caramel & pine nuts, if that’s a real thing.
Dr. Hoptagon immediately makes me start thinking about the other beers in my fridge, & how fast I can get there. This embodies the weakest parts of the black IPA style. To start with, it’s watery. Next, the pine nut hop runs headlong into the roast, & unfortunately it’s me showing signs of concussion. Weird hoppy burn in the back of the throat. Coffee grounds. Would have been more interested in a 1.5 oz. pour of this.
Give me those unicorn pies any day. I just don’t like this
