Notes:
Canebrake is crisp and smooth with a beautiful golden honey color. This refreshing American wheat style brew highlights sweet remnants of sugarcane with notes of honey, spice, and citrus on the finish. A new Louisiana tradition, Canebrake was the first commerical beer in the world brewed with local sugarcane syrup.

Poured into a snifter. Label says Best By: but then there's nothing after it.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch white head that has a relatively sturdy head for a wheat beer then drops down to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a couple small patches of surface foam. Slippery, non-resilient lacing leaves jagged streaks behind on the glass.
S- Has that fumey wheat smell you get with a lot of the lower grade APWAs. It's a rotten honey/white grape aroma I'm not a fan of.
T- Faint wheat malt that has stale bread in the aftertaste. Minimal bitterness. Almost tastes like an adjunct lager with a tinge of wheat and spice. Pretty weak overall.
M- Watery and dull with medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Pretty lame representation of the style. Will not revisit.

Poured into a weizen glass. Pours light golden with a thick eggshell colored head that dissipates slowly. There are lots of visible tiny streaming bubbles rising in the beer. There are faint aromas of wheat and barley. The smell is mildly sweet and there's virtually no discernable hop aroma. The beer has flavors of wheat and barley malt and some mild sweetness. There are some mild grassy hops in the flavor. Overall, the flavors are pretty mellow. The body is light with strong carbonation. The finish is slightly dry and the drinkability is high. This is a good beer.

Had this one while visiting New Orleans for Cantillon Zwanze Day! Served from tap into a shaker. Poured a golden yellow-orange with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, grain, and earth. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, grain, spice, subtle earth, and nutty. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty average brew. Nothing on this brew really stood out at all. Just not really a lot going on in this one that was even slightly above an average brew for the style. While it wasn’t terrible it just didn’t leave a lasting impression on my palate. Glad I got to try it, but I doubt I would go out of my way to do so again.

served from the tap at the Avenue Pub in New Orleans, in a pint glass
appears a light copper color, bone white head that fades. Aroma of pale malt, slight sweetness, and herbal spice. Nice light refreshing taste. The description said the beer is wheat based, but I don't really taste it. Slightly yeasty dry aftertaste. thin to medium body, higher carbonation.
overall - an interesting beer that is definitely a good summer brew.

On tap at Bulldog's in New Orleans
A- pours clear and golden with a frothy white head, no lace
S- sugary, earthy malt, hay, very little hops
T- sweet sugar, barnyard hay, faint herbal hop, Finsihes malty with a slight wheat linger.
M- spritzy carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, medium body, goes down smooth.
O- a sweet, yet earthy brew. pretty drinkable but nothing really blew me away.
