Avoid at all costs, which is hard to do in Brazil because this swill is everywhere.
A - pale, yellow body, fizzy white head.
S - might as well be smelling an empty glass.
T - urgh. Corn, wheat and old coins. Weak but just horrible.
M - highly carbonated water
O - Not only incredibly bland but what flavour there is is disagreeable. Disgraceful beer, possibly the world's worst.

Straight pour from 473ml can to a 5oz-ish tumbler. That comes out to 16oz, right? Freshness date of November 13, 2012 printed in black ink in the kick-up underneath the can (at least, that’s how I’m interpreting it: “131112”).
Appearance (2.5): Very small, short-lived head on this, snow-white and starting around half a centimeter thick. No fingers to measure this one—this beer is fingerless. Some lacing, actually. The body is a pale yellow, and clear. Well, at least there’s some sudsy lace.
Smell (1.5): Kind of smells like the water cup at a beer pong table: vaguely beer-like, but mostly water. Some very plain barley scent that might be most accurately measured in parts per million. Some sweet corn? I suppose the lowest score would be if it legitimately smelled bad, but this just doesn’t smell like anything to speak of.
Taste (1.5): Following the nose, this is more of a palate cleanser than anything else. It’s got a strange aftertaste though, like unflavored grits mixed with some overcooked vegetables. There is just the GHOST of a hint of bitterness in the finish, vaguely herbal and vegetal. I’d love to say that it has a distinct pilsner yeast note, but it simply doesn’t.
Mouthfeel (2.0): Well, there is some carbonation. It’s low-key, fizzy, and dies quickly, though. What this beer DOES have going for it is quenching-ness. It’s very light, goes down easy, and I suppose it has a somewhat dry finish, for lack of sweetness or viscosity.
Overall (2.0): Can I give this a 1.75? This is definitely not a good beer, and not a good representation of the style, either. To be perfectly honest, with this little taste, body, and feel, I’m shocked that it even retains 5% ABV. That said, the beer was meant to be light, inoffensive, and drank in large quantities, all of which it achieves without much trouble. It’s not the worst of the worst—that would be a slushy of Classic Ice, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, and Rogue Chipotle—but it does not stand out in any way, whatsoever, and is forgettable at best. Don’t get me wrong, I can dig a good AAL once in a while. But even in terms of the Brazilian market, with which I consider myself relatively familiar, this is far from anything notable.

Appearance: pale yallow, good clarity, puny layer of white suds
Aroma: corn silk, grain, some kind of chemical fruitiness
Flavor: dusty grainy malts, slight tartiness, corn, cheap alcohol, finishes dryish with a "malt liquor" aftertaste
Mouthfeel: light body, prickly carbonation
Other comments: In there with the world's cheap lagers. Doesn't surprise or disappoint on that count. Was given two cans of this as a gift. The first one I tried super-chilled and mixed with some Danish mead. THAT actually tasted good!

Another Ambev beer, which is unfortunate. Big company controlling most beers available in the country, therefore they all taste the same. Consistency, in this case, does not mean quality.
This one at least loooks a little better than the average: golden, with a foamy white head that disappears quickly.
Smell is part alcohol, mild hops, no discernible malt.
Taste is like a beefed up bud, slightly heavier, a tiny bit more body. Good to mow the lawn.

Pale Yellow color. Strange enough this Adjunct Lager produced lots of thick head with low to medium retention and leaving traces through the glass.
Faint aroma of non-malted cereals but some floral hops identifiable.
Taste of cereals with a bit refreshing and spicy feeling.
Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness. Light body and good carbonation.
I remembered why I could not stand Brahma and was on the Antarctica side of the split population of Brazil, for its bitterness. Nevertheless all the formulas seem to be pretty much the same now, and it carries some annoying corn note.

The last of the 3 canned presents from a work colleague after his recent trip to Brazil. I wonder if he hates me? Judging by this beer I am beginning to wonder!!
A white 350ml can with a picture of 2 penguins facing each others, looks like a childs Soda Can.
Antarctica hints at this beers function in life.
Has a classic macro-lager look, golden with a white frothy ½ head.
Smells are reminiscent of a cheap bar.
Tastes like a low calorie version of water.
This must be macro-swill, because I even crushed the can with one hand and threw it into the waste bin.
I imagine this is on draft in Hell along with Bud Lite.

S- Very little smell and only while pouring. Somewhat malty.
T- Watery and a little bready. Not too great.
M- Thin with nice carbonation, at least when cold.
D- Extremely easy.

Sitting poolside in Rio....
Pours clear golden with a 2 finger white head. Lots of carbonation rising.
Aroma is of adjuncts....corn.
Taste of corn, quite light...adjuncts
Mouthfeel is light bodied and slightly cleansing.
Overall, really no need for another one. If a beer can't taste good while sitting poolside in Rio....then it is not good!

this is one of the "least lousy" brazilian macros. not something I'd choose to drink, but it's better than Skol, or Kaiser.
Looks as pale yellow as most of macro lagers, and the same could be said about smell and mouthfeel. If you already tasted some other macro lagers, you won't miss anything if you skip this.

i guess the brazilian tern for pilsner , is not bitter or hopsy, boring, boring and boring.
watered down kindoff,
not a horrible beer , but very annoying in the sense that it brings nothing special to the table. not even special in a bad way. just nothing .
wheat, and water i guess.

Antarctica is the name of a cold continent with pengiuns. It is also the name of a Brazilian beer with penguins on its label, and will be served cold. On to the beer:
Tons of carbonation bubbles spring to the top of the beer. Pale washed out straw yellow color, with a semi-froathy head on top with decent retention. Looks good. In the aroma, there is some husk and creamed corn, similar to other adjunt lagers found in Brazil. Taste....meh. It tastes like wood and grain husk mixed with a pinch of creamed corn. It's not very appealing to me, but it's not awful. Notes of fruit salad and fruit skins are noted. Carbonation is moderately strong in this light bodied beer.
Interestingly, this beer was being exported to the US thirty years ago, and we know how well that went. It's passable, but blah overall. One and out for me, and please don't make any penguin piss jokes.

12 oz. can,
A: Pours pale yellow with a nice white head, very good retention for the style, some lace even.
S: Very mild, some corn.
T: Very light initially. As it warmed a bit I got some husky grain and corn, DMS, but nowhere near as sickly sweet as the Skol I had previous, more balanced with the mediocre flavours it does have.
M: Light-bodied, thin, lightly overcarbonated, watery adjunct lager.
D: Nice enough, but a pallid beer. No problems drinking it, but I would want to move on to something else after one. Cool label though.

A: The beer is crystal clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that quickly died down leaving lacing on the surface and a thick ring around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of adjunct malts, particularly corn, are present in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and the flavors are quite mild.
M: It feels light-bodied and a bit thin and watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink; the smell and taste are not that offensive but then again there’s nothing really special about either of them that would make me want to try another glass of these.

Pours a crisp very light golden color with a medium sized foam head and bubbles constantly rushing to the surface. Smell, like almost all thin lagers from Brazil is very faint. Taste actually had a little bit of body to it. There was presence of flavor, albeit not much. This is a fairly middle of the road offerring from the land of Samba, better than the Kaiser's and Skol's but not quite up to par with Bohemia.

Typical macro brew for Brazil. I don't blame them, the USA has tons of this sort of stuff. The only difference is EVERY SINGLE PLACE has only Brahma and Bohemia. Gah, so hard to find a decent drink.
A - Yellow/gold, short head
S - no smell at all to me
T - slightly citrusy, but mostly just flavored water
M - average. Slightly carbonated. Watery as mentioned
O - Flavored water and little else. An alternative to Guarana on a hot day.

Similar products, similar comments:
Another product of Ambev, this beer is also a commercial lager style. It´s not too different in comparison with their competitors, many of them also produced by Ambev (Brahma, Skol, Bohemia, Original).
A pale lager beer, with low bitterness (around 12 IBU), Original Gravity around 11,5 Plato. Almost no fermentation aroma.

Antartica Pilsen is like any other big macro beers; but the penguins on the can are really cool!!! Pours golden clear with good carbontaion that provides an intial froathy white head that dissapates quickly. The smell and taste are bolstered by grain with some hop in an effort to balance the beer. This is a standard no-frills beer. Drink it cuz its beer.

Hey, what else are you going to drink in Brazil. It was Rio Carnival, the girls were hot, and what else are you going to drink for a .75 cent a liter. Well either way it gets you drunk.
Appearance- It looks like Brazilion urine, what else do you want me to say. The white yellow fizz on top reminds me of soda. Really ugly and you can pretty much see right through it.
Smell- Like corn. Realy earthy.
Taste-Like colored water. Actually not that bad to be honest with you. Gets you pretty drunk and is really drinkable.
Overall, a pretty terrible beer. Nothing close to the great brews that we have in America, but when in Rome, huh?

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for bringing this back from a trip to South America.
Pours straw yellow with a thin white head that stays for awhile before becoming a lasting patch.
The smell is of sweet grain, lime, a touch of sulfur with a slight hop snap. Smells like an EPL/pseudo-pils.
Confirmed. This is EPL meets American macro lager. Still-in-all for an American macro (/EPL?) ("pils" is out of the question/style standards), this is okay. Sulfur/lime, sweet with a non-descript bitter tinge (barely).
Very light-bodied - airy more than fizzy.
An easy-drinking, "bland" brew that calls itself a pilsner - go figure. Within that realm, I found this to be "okay". Not rushing to South America to get more, though.

Poured from a silver/blue can into an American Airlines clear plastic cup. My first Brazilian brew and I wasn't quite there yet. Alas, things would improve later in the week.
Pours a clear light straw with a thin white head that offers your typical brief retention. Slightly sweet of grain and light corn on the nose with a subtle noble hop presence.
Light lager flavor, slightly sweet and straightforward. More typical of a Euro Lager than an Adjunct, yet not unlike many a foreign 'throw it in the adjunct pile' beer. I moved on to Skol for a day then stuck with Bohemia for the duration of the trip.

A: Some head with mild lacing.
S: Only a slight smell after initial pour.
T: Best served extremely cold (-4C). It has light flavor with no strong aftertaste.
M: Small bubbles, slightly rough from heavier carbonation.
D: Easy to drink, one of the better Brazilian beers of this type. Keep it cold or drink it fast.
