I had this on-tap at a bar in a hotel right next to my own hotel on a recent trip to St. Louis.
A: Poured a very cloudy (unfiltered), orange creamsicle color, with an Alka-Seltzery head that made this look creamy and inviting.
S: Pow! Lots of coriander, fresh banana, with a very well balanced spice mixture.
T: Bubble gum, disciplined sweetness, and with a spice blend that was downright awesome and made me go back for more and more. The smoothness on the end was just icing on a well-baked cake!
M: Creamy as hell, and with ridiculous lacing that put most hefes on the market to shame.
O: This was one of the highlight brews of my entire summer!

the masses (my mates in st. louis) have been raving about this one for ages, time to dig in. this baby pours a conventional hefe looking cloudy bright yellow/orange color with a 2 inch white head that lasts the whole time. smells like a banana cream pie, with loads of fresh bananas and vanilla, some spice in there too. flavor is equally vibrant. tons of fruit and spice intermixing. its sweet but only for a second, then citrus and clove come in, vanilla in the finish. excellent character given to the beer by the yeast, its light and airy in the mouth, well carbonated to say the least, with more body than usual for the style, which absolutely makes this for me. a delicious brew, majorly sessionable. dying for my next one already. worth the hype.

Served this Hefeweizen on tap, at the brewery, in a Weizen glass. This brew poured a cloudy, pale golden orange color, produced a white head, featured excellent retention and lacing. The aroma of this Hefe features fruity Bavarian yeast, full of banana, clove and soft wheat. Medium in body, this traditional style Hefe featured malted wheat, banana , clove and nutmeg flavors. Very nice example of the style, great session beer- Prost!

A - pours a cloudy, hazy yellow without much of a head
S - smells of spices (nutmeg & clove) and banana
T - taste follows the nose well. Opens up with a nice lemon citrus flavor. This fades to a nice spiciness that contains a bit of clove and nutmeg that is intertwined with some banana flavors. It ends with a spritzy citrus flavor with some subtle grassy hops. Solid stuff.
M - creamy and full, goes down nicely.
D - very enjoyable beer here. Hits the style perfectly and deliciously. It will be tough for UC to top this hefe in their German lineup.

On tap at 33 in St. Louis.
A - Poured a cloudy, pale gold color with a two-finger, pillowy white head of foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace on the glass.
S - It smelled very yeasty with cracked wheat and some banana notes.
T - Good cracked wheat flavor with yeast, cloves and banana. A touch of caramel maltiness, too.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied ale with a dry finish.
O - This was a really good hefewiezen. Great flavor and a great representation of the style.

Urban chestnut brewing company stopped for lunch at schlafly but was closed. They directed us here. Beer is cloudy with lacy white head. Bright yellow, lightly carbonated. Clove dominates aroma, with touch of citrus to balance. Tangy citrus- lemon - some clove and quite a bit of yeast. Chewy but light body, pleasantly palate cleansing and refreshing. Etoh mild. Finish with touch of green banana.

Pours a cloudy, yellow/maize color. 3/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of lemon, citrus hops, slight wheat, hint of tart malt, and a hint of clove. Fits the style of a Hefeweizen. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, cereal, bread, citrus hops, lemon, and hint of clove. Overall, good appearance, aroma, blend, and body.

S: Banannas, clove..obvious German hefe.
T: Follows nose, maybe a bit of vanilla? Perfect balance, clove, or bananna notes not over done.
M: Creamy, light, perfect!
D: Amazing. I love German hefe's, and this is hands down, world class. Wierd drinking one in January, but, it works.

Pours a hazy straw gold color with a very nice white head. The head recedes quickly leaving no lacing. (4)
Aroma of cloves and bananas but with some more breads notes that provide some a nice balance to the brew. There is a slight grassy hop note in the background. Very typical but yummy. (3.5)
Flavor is straightforward Hefe. Starts of bready and grainy with some nice earthy notes. This is then followed with some nice clove notes and the yeasty notes typical of a Hefe. Pretty clean and yummy. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. (4.0)(3.5)
Good traditional Hefe with a nice fresh hop character to it.(4.5.)
