This poured out as a nice looking clear golden color with a white frothy head on top. The lacing was sticky and the retention was great. The smell of the beer gave off massive amounts of hoppy citrus aromas and pine notes. The taste of the beer was sweet in the very beginning before transitioning over to the bitterness of the hops. Lots of pine resin and tropical fruit flavors in this beer. The mouthfeel was smooth and lightly carbonated with a slight thickness to it. Overall it's a damn good IPA.

On-tap at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH...
A: Pours a light translucent straw/yellow with about one full finger of pure white head. The foam settles in a decent amount of time. There is minimal lacing as it drinks.
S: The nose is tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, passionfruit), mixed with some light citrus, and mild malt. It smells great.
T: The taste follows the nose. It's light sweetness up front and then the tropical fruits come on strong. From the middle to the finish it's all about the mango. The end of the beer really bitters up as lemon and grapefruit make an appearance.
M: Light bodied beer. It's refreshing at first sip, but the hoppy bitterness of this beer lingers for quite awhile.
O: This is a really nice IPA, and worthy of all the praise it receives. I'm a big fan of the tropical fruit notes in this beer, but I thought the finish was a little harsh. Solid stuff. I'm happy to have tried it at the place where it's made.

Had it on tap and bottle. Pours a beautiful semi-
transparent yellow with some nice lacing around the glass. Aroma is more like a DIPA with citrus and pine jumping out at you. It tastes just like it smells. A rich mouthfeel that seems to make me want to almost chug it. An outstnding Midwest IPa. This is my new go to beer.

Definitely not a favorite from the Brew Kettle.
It poured a clear orange, not hazy like some IPAs with a little amount of head.
The aroma had a strong amount of hops and grapefruit and pineapple.
The taste is where I became disappointed. There was almost no taste of the fruit from the smell, but there was some hop flavor, not a lot and a ton of bitterness. There are notes of grapefruit and citrus, but doesn't compare to the tropical fruit smells in the aroma.
I have heard so many good things about this, but it tasted watered down so it really surprises me. Maybe it was a bad batch.

Had this on tap at a local pub.
The beer is very clear, and orange-apricot in color. A small head of eggshell color was minimal and not long lasting. A small amount of lacing was deposited on the glass as I sipped.
The nose isn't particularly strong, but its definitely hoppy. Strong citrus notes are prominent, with little in the way of malt making it into the nose.
The taste is very hoppy, and it's pretty citrusy. If I had to guess, I'd say there is centennial, simcoe and amarillo in there ... at least that's what it tastes like to me. Heavily weighted to the hop side ... not a good balance. A bit more malt would've added to the mouthfeel as well, which is medium-light.
Overall, I found White Rajah as a decent IPA, a bit unbalanced towards the hop side, but enjoyable. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you're a hop-head.
Na Zdravje!

On tap at flipdaddy's burgers and beers
A-transparent golden
S-awesome. (Great grapefruit smell with a little bit of citrus)
T-drink it and find out. Bitches (drinks more like a dipa. Lots of grapefruit. Smooth)
M-wet. (Medium body and smooth. Lingering hop bitterness)
O-too expensive to get plastered on.(very good. But deserving of the hype that is startting to generate? Prolly not)

Pours a clear dark golden with a white head.
Smell is dominated by the hops; a huge grapefruit hop blast with a touch of tropical fruit (papaya, mango).
Taste is dominated by the hops. One sip and all you can taste for minutes is dry bitter piney grapefruit zest.
Mouthfeel is good; good creamy carbonation.
Overall this reminded me of the first time I opened a Pliny and smelled those glorious hops. One of the longest most drying finishes of any IPA I've had.

Served on-tap into a tulip glass at Senate in Cincinnati.
Appearance: Light golden yellow in color with a small white head.
Smell: Citrus aroma - especially grapefruit
Taste: Citrus flavors dominate, especially the grapefruit flavor. The taste is slightly sweet with only a slightly bitter finish. The hoppy taste is smooth and are not overpowering.
Mouthfeel: Medium body and average carbonation.
Overall: This is an extremely tasty and satisfying IPA. It goes down easily and is very refreshing. I had two with dinner and I probably would have had a third if I was staying any longer. An excellent beer.

Had this on tap at TBK in a pint glass. Pours a clear golden copper color with a minimal white head.
Has a spicy aroma, with plenty of white grapefruit and caramel malt. Quite citrusy, I can already tell I'm going to like this one!
Hop forward, like stabbing a straw into a grapefruit and drinking deep, this is a citrusy, hoppy brew. Mango and pineapple notes are present, but are really dominated by the white grapefruit. Smooths out mid-sip with the caramel malt starting to come through, before a dry bitter finish.
Medium bodied, this is a very refreshing bitter beer.
This is a very well rounded West-coast style American IPA. Well hopped, quite citrusy, and with a decent malt backbone, it's no wonder this won a gold medal and Best in Show at the 2011 IX Center International Beer Fest. I absolutely recommend grabbing this if you can!

Sampled on draft at Paxton's in Loveland, OH.
Appearance is a clear golden orange with some sticky lacing left on the glass.
Smell is bursting with dank piney hops and tropical fruits. Grapefruit and mango. Fresh hop aroma with a bit of pale malt buried underneath.
Taste is strong on the pine and citrus hop flavors. Some mild sweet caramel followed by a bitter clean finish. Hop heavy but a good balance for an IPA. I think this could be the definition of what an American IPA should taste like.
Medium body and dry. This is very easy drinking with a clean finish that leaves plenty of hoppiness on the palate.
Overall an excellent IPA. This is my second time trying this brew and it is just as good as the first. Definitely recommend this for hopheads for its great flavor and aroma.

Brew Kettle : White Rajah
Poured ontap into a pint glass. A clear golden colored brew with a small white cap and plenty of lacing. Aroma is not unlike a bag of fresh hops or pellets. Concentrated hop aroma and very inviting. In the flavor, over the top pine, bitter lemon rind, and grapefruit hop profile. Really quenching and hitting all the right notes. I love how hop forward this brew is, with a great fresh pine taste. In the finish, citrus and a light earthy bitterness. Medium to light bodied feel with a good hop bite. Overall, an exceptional IPA. Would like to get this regularly.

Draft to pint. Looks great; not too dark, not too light. Smells great too; fresh hops and citrus. Tastes good; light and hoppy . Mouthfeel is excellent; the easiest drinking 7.1% beer I've ever had. I'd probably have given it a 5, but it's just so different from a normal IPA. Overall, a great beer that I'll be having again - in about 5 minutes when I get up to order another :)

A- Pours a lighter gold color with a slight bit of haze and a fairly small white head. Head has pretty solid retention and leaves just a bit of lacing at best.
S- Picking up quite a bit of tropical fruits here. Mainly grapefrut, tangerine and apricot. A bit of piney hops here as well.
T- Taste is pretty sweet for an IPA. Quite a bit of tropical fruits, and a touch of pine.
M- Medium in both body and carbonation.
O- Not too bad at all. I hope this one hits a bottle I'd like to have this one again.

Poured on tap at Vintage Estate
Appears an orangeish tan color with a tan head that sticks around a bit. Great lacing. Citrus, grapefruit and a sweet malt backbone comes to the forefront. Wow a nicely balanced IPA, nice citrus with a tropical fruit burst coming in after. A touch of slightly bitter dryness on the back end. Body is medium with a bit of stickiness. Carbonation is active but nicely formed and somewhat creamy. Overall a real under the radar treat if you are an IPA lover.

Enjoyed on tap in a pint glass at The Brew Kettle.
A 1/2-finger off white head sits atop a clear golden amber body with small amounts of quickly rising tiny carbonation bubbles. The head recedes after a few minutes to a thin, even dusting and thick foam ring. Slight lacing can be noticed throughout consumption.
Sticky pine needle hops aromas dominate the nose with scents of citrus hops also present. Notes of orange peel and cantaloupe give a slightly tropical feel to the nose.
Sweet, honey-like malt flavors prepare the taste buds for the approaching hops. First, spicy hops sting the tip of the tongue. Then earthy, spicy hops begin attacking the rest of the tongue while citrus notes dance in the background. A spicy, piney bitterness then descends upon the back of the tongue to finish the experience.
Medium bodied with great carbonation, this beer coats your mouth and sticks around just long enough to remind you to take another sip. Easily drinkable and rather refreshing, this beer has earned quite a reputation in these parts, and rightfully so.

On tap at bw3 in troy, ohio. Have been seeing thiis on tap more and more places lately, along with other TBK beers, which I am very happy about.
A:a nice dark, golden, amber color. Nice head on the pour, and a decent amount of lacing left on the glass.
S: strong grapefruit and citrus hop flavor. My girlfriend keeps commenting on how she can smell the grapefruit coming out of the glass. Very nice, fruity ipa smell.
T: follows the smell very well. Great fruity hop flavor, a bit sweet but I think it works well with the strong fruit flavors. Bitter but not overpoweringly, the fruit is well integrated into the bitterness.
M:thick but not heavy, goes down very well.
O: a great ipa, strong fruit flavors, a nice level of bitterness that is well integrated into the fruit flavors, goes down very easy. I hope this becomes more readily available, I will probably drinkk this just about everytime I see it, unless there is something much more interesting available. Between this and headhunter from fatheads, northern ohio has some great ipas.

Pours a deep copper with a two inch rocky slightly off white head. Great retention.
Just an amazing nose of tropical and citrus fruits with a hair of floral eaters. Grapefruit, mango, lemon zest, orange, sunflowers and more fantastic.
Very well balanced, with a spritzy biting carbonation that really benefits the beer. Grapefruit, mango, pineapple, star fruit, lemon and lime, flinty after tones leading into a floral boquet and cereal grains on the long dry finish. An amazing ipa that needs bottled soon.

On tap at the Brew Kettle.
Pours a clear golden color with a hint of apricot. Good white head and some nice ringy lacing on the way done. The nose really drops a ton of tropical notes; the Citra character is really prevalent here. Some citrus in the background. Really, really nice. The taste has the same tropical character, but unfortunately ends up really competing with a strong alcohol presence, which carries over into the feel. Dry finish and light body; nothing there to stand up to the alcohol. This would have been a lot better as a 6% beer, I think. Also pretty sure the menu had it listed above 7%. Overall, the nose was killer and the rest was a bit of a disappointment after that. High expectations, for sure.

Wow, this was a really good IPA. I’ve heard a lot of buzz in homebrewing circles regarding Citra hops (sold out a lot of places) and I have to say I didn’t understand the buzz until I tasted this beer. A light orange body that is clear but not brilliant under a soft white head. Aroma is very citrus-y with a lot of pineapple notes. Bitterness is quite apparent but not harsh in any way. This beer has got its IBUs in all the right places to make it extremely drinkable. Mouthfeel was smooth and good. This was a very good beer. I had this on-draft at Rozi’s Wine house in Lakewood.

Pours a slightly hazy oranigsh color with a frothy three finger head which reseds to a tight skin and gives way to good lacing up and down the glass. The aroma is fantastic big earthy and piney hop smell balanced out with a nice citrus smell. The flavor is like the nose, a nice beefy hop character of earth and pine the citrus brings a great balance to the flavor. The mouthfeel is well carbonated. The drinkability is very high and easy drink with a great nose and a complex tatse that keeps you wanting more.

On tap in a pint glass at Bodega on 11/3/10
Burnt amber with a slight haziness. 1/8th inch head that skimmed quickly. Some lace at the beginning. However, no head or lace by the end.
Super dense, oily hop aromas. Juicy citrus - lemon & a little grapefruit. Some piney notes. Nice, spicy notion as well. Smells like a Founder's Double Trouble or a ramped-up Bell's Two Hearted.
Tastes an awful lot like Double Trouble too, which is a good thing. Solid foray into pine, then some spicy Amarillo. Tight, indistinguishable citrus blends in. Malts are at a minimum.
Righteously resinous, oily & sticky. The hops dominate the feel, making the medium body seem heavier. Fairly dry finish with a moderate bitterness lingering.
Very tasty & highly drinkable for 7% abv. I spoke with Chris (the brewmaster) the night before & he told me the hop bill is Citra, Simcoe, Centennial & Amarillo; a choice lineup, in my opinion.
I'll be looking for this once bottled.

On tap at Bodega. Part of a featured line up from The Brew Kettle.
This is pretty spot on as far as color is concerned. Its not too dark, or too light. Just a nice middle round rich gold color. Moderate haze but small head and not much lacing. Its hard to really judge these criteria when its served in a shaker pint.
I couldnt stop smelling this one. Huge juicy wafts of tropical fruits. They say its an attempt at a West Coast style IPA, but to me its very Midwest. Not much pine, its really all exotic fruits. Pineapple, tangerine, mango and lemon-lime. Superb.
The taste is just as good. Very juicy and tropical. Pineapple, tangerine and lemon-lime dominate. Its pretty sweet and citrusy throughout. The finish yields what bitterness this beer has. Even then its just a very enjoyable amount of bitterness to give the beer a slight bite at the end. This is a very impressive beer.
I must have more of this. I hear that TBK is planning to going to 6-packs and this beer might be seeing the bottling line in the future. Here's hoping.

On tap at the Fat Heads IPA festival. 7%, 78 IBU. This beer won the belt for IPA and best overall beer at this festival, a HUGE accomplishment for TBK. The beer's still being tweaked a bit, but is described as:
"Our first take on a west coast style IPA featuring Citra hops"
This beer has a great storybehind the name. Fat Heads makes an excellent American IPA called Headhunter that won the silver at GABF this year in the most-entered category ever. Well, White Raja is a historical figure who went to Burnei and was determined to end headhunting. So, you can say in a way, this beer's name translates to "headhunter killer". Zing!
The beer looks great - golden with some copper highlights on the edges. There's a film of head with a white ring. Looks good but a touch sticky based on the lack of noticeable carb and head. Color and clarity are both fantastic, though, so this still scores well.
The aroma is amazing. Layers of hops give huge citrus and a touch of Simcoe catty smells. Lots of simcoe in this one, and the citra gives some great lemon and a bit of pep as well. Huge grapefruit, orange, lemon aromatics. Just a killer smelling beer.
Wow, this is amazing tasting. A touch sweeter than expected. One of the best hop bills outside of California. Really well balanced, with simcoe giving some huge kick-ass citrus and grass and perfume. Kiss of sweetness from the malt. Lemon from the citra. Oh boy, this is a game changer here. Ohio's IPA crown may be heading to Strongsville.
The body is just north of water in a good way. Not substantive or sticky with great touch of carb. Medium pleasant bitterness lingers. This beer is amazing and so drinkable. It stood out in a competition with all the big boys, including the finest from Founders, Bear Republic, Port, Fat Heads, Avery, etc. No more tweaking necessary. Put this lightning in a bottle now. Seriously, Jack, why are you still reading this? Bottle it :)
