Thanks Steasy66. 12 oz bottle split between two people.

Clear golden colored, perhaps a little too clear. Medium head and retention. Aroma belongs to the spicy side of hops, venturing well into the onion-garlic territory. An instant turn off for me. Tastes bitter and spicy, again in the Allium genus.

Light, dry and crisp. Overall it's not a bad beer but it's not too good either.

The Brew Kettle Taproom & Smokehouse / Production Works - White Rajah - 12fl oz bottle

Snagged one of these courtesy of Hendry.

Look - Pours a hazy amber brown with a small foamy head, nice sticky lacing. Not the best looking brew but I never judge a book by its cover, at least it looked fresh.

Smell - Deep caramel malts with a nice pine and citrus hop overlay. Nothing phenomenal here, pretty malty but have seen brews of this style that are.

Taste - Snappy malt quickly tamed by a hop blast, but this is then overridden by a second malt wave with a bit of sweetness to it that lingers.

Mouthfeel - Sticky and malty with a hop bitter on the palate. Good drinkability. Slightly boozy, a bit of a throat heater. Not quite as smooth as I expect from an AIPA and the hops get pushed down by the malt profile.

Overall - Not a bad beer, but much too malt forward, the smooth blending I expect in an AIPA simply was not there. I have noticed a trend towards not being particularly fond of the darker malts in these kinds of brews, so it is more personal taste than anything.

Pours a deep amber with minimal head, respectable lacing.

Aroma is mostly sweet malts with a hint of piney citrus in the background.

Flavors seem to be a tug of war between the tall malts and the hop selection, with the malts winning the battle.

Predominatley malty flavors with some piney/resiny bitterness.

Mouthfeel is lighter meadium, malts are sticky.

Overall decent, but far too much malt for my taste.
