A - Light through the center of the glass with a near white thick creamy head.
S - Strong malts smell, some dark chocolate hidden in ther with a touch of dark fruit
T - old watered down coffee with malts and a hint of chocolate. Not actuallt bad, but certainly not good.
M - Thin with a mild coating. Slight tingle on sides of tongue.
O - No reason to buy this again.

Color is nice. Almost no head. Very chocolatey aroma. Smooth and surprisingly light on the tongue. It's got all the flavors you want in a porter. Bitter coffee, loads of chocolate, light smoke, some oak and vanilla.
The first couple sips didn't do a lot for me, but now that it's warmer, all the flavors are coming out more. Definitely give this some time to come up to temp. It'll make a difference.
This is very good, but it's a step below the elite porters I've had. But I couldn't tell you what's missing. Certainly not a disappointment.

Bomber into a snifter. This bottle is circa 2010 and was lodged in the back of the fridge. The brew pours a dark brown with clarity around the edges and a frothy khaki head sits atop. Some spotty webs of lace stick to the glass.
The aroma includes notes of milk chocolate mixed with a little bit of roast. It is somewhat oxidized with earth and mild citrus to fruity hops components blended into the nose. A mild fruity tinge is present somewhat reminescent of raisins.
The taste includes a flavor of raisins and the previously mentioned milk chocolate character with minimal dry roasty flavor. A little hint of earth breaks things up coupled with an aftertaste of tobacco and citrus to fruity hops.
This is a medium to lighter bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. It is overall a bit lighter in the feel than expected with almost too much of a watery and easy drinking feel. Overall though it id nice and without fault. Just an everyday easy drinking porter that id probably enjoy again if offered but wouldnt go out of my way for.

12oz bottle into a chalice/snifter hybrid glass
no born on date, received a number of months ago in a trade
A: Pours a dark cola brown with less than 1 fingers width of light mocha colored head, looks like a coke cola except a bit more opaque. Leaves some small patches of lacing.
S: Roasted malt is the main player here, along with hints of chocolate, creamed coffee, and anise. Its kind of smells like it was raw barrel aged, with hints of oak and vanilla. Quite nice.
T: Follows the nose. Tons of roasted malt. Vanilla, bakers chocolate, a hint of booze which is surprising given the low ABV. Tasty.
M/D: Pretty heavily carbonated, and rather thin. Not this beers strong suit.
O: Overall, above average, but not great. By far the best of the 3 Brew Kettle offerings he sent over via trade ( 4C's Pale and Dark Helmet being the other two; he was supposed to send White Rajah, what a disappointment), this is the only one Id drink again. Nothing special, but a well done and enjoyable American Porter.

Poured from a 12oz bottle courtesy of RocPorterFanatic (yet again...thanks dog).
A: Deep black color. Aggressive center pour leads to a half-finger head that dissipates quickly. Lacing is consistent and plentiful.
S: Nice nose of roasted malts, cocoa, figs and plum skin. This beer makes me realize that a good American Porter is tough to beat.
T: Big complex, smokey, toasty, full of chocolate, burnt toast and raisins. Nicely complex porter.
M: Big bodied, perfectly carbonated.
O: RocPorterFanatic is making me realize that there is *nothing* better than a fine porter. The bottles he sent in this BIF have turned me into a convert..

12 ounce bottle from Ryan011235, poured into a LaChouffe tulip. Fairly dark brown with an initial explosive tan head that quickly settles into a foamy finger or so, and then slowly into a skim over time. Several loosely formed rings of lacing are left behind.
The nose features burnt and roasted malts with bittersweet chocolate. Leans a little heavily toward the burnt end of things, a theme that carries over into the flavor profile. A touch of sweetness might smooth out the acridity of the burn malts. Campfire coffee with a moderate hop bite and surprising viscosity, but with a fair dose of carbonation to keep things moving along. The lack of sweetness doesn't really hurt drinkability, I tend to like my dry porters more roasty than sharp. Not bad, a middle-of-the-pack kinda porter.
