Pours a redish orange with a white head. Smell is dominated by hops, malt is ther with some sweet notes. Taste is mostly hops but the sweet almost candy flavors come in as well. Mouthfeel is decent almost medium. Overall a good beer, good flavors, nice balance. Good beer worth checking out.

Pours a dark brown with a copper hue abs a frothy half inch khaki head that dissipates slowly.

Citrus and deeply toasted, caramelly, almost melanoidin-like malt notes form the initial aroma. It's very nutty and rich.

Flavor reveals more hop character, with citrus and pine underlying that highly toasted and nutty caramel malt backbone. The hop flavor becomes bitter and resiny mid palate, but not overwhelmingly so. Grapefruit and lemon contrast the sweet caramel nicely.

Body is moderate, with carbonation a touch on the high side, and modest alcohol warmth.

Lots more malt character than most, reminiscent of a bock, this might be a good gateway ipa. I love the malt character, which is rich and tends to overwhelm the hops. Bitterness is spot on for an apa, but combined with the toasty notes, is too much for my palate.

Weird label with this one. A British soldier with a rattlesnake and a bunch of boxes and crates. I am sure there is some story somewhere about this one.

Beer pours quite clouded with minimal head off a fairly gentle pour. Flavor is a gob of piney malty character that seems to fall off quite quickly. At least, way quicker than I would like. This may be a bit past its prime as the malt is quite forward, but maybe that is the way it's supposed to be. Either way, an okay pale ale, at best.

I got this in a beer exchange. Thanks Chris!

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.

L - murky orange/amber color with a thick off-white head that left lots of lacing.

S - pungent hops - earth, pine and citrus.

T - good deal of hops, balanced out for the most part with some bitter tea-like flavor going on at the finish.

F - medium/full bodied, slightly creamy.

O - a decent beer worth trying.

Into a pint glass

Pours clear darkish brownish color. Biscuity head with decent retention and lacing. I got a big wiff of the the smell on this right after I opened the bottle! Nice citrus notes and a bread like background. Really well done.

Taste is really just a lot of malt and hops right up front. However, the hopyness is not nearly as powerful as it was in the nose. The is a strong presence of a metallic like taste and more so of a feel to it.

I may have been a bit generous with all the ratings. It's a little cloudy - just a little. The aroma is a bit weak. The taste has a metalic something - from the hops, not an infection, I think. Not horrible at all. The hops are making a statement as they should for an APA.

It's getting better as I go and as it warms. Now it'smore like just a decent APA. I would try this again, but I would want it on tap, and not a $5 bomber.

22 ounce bottle, this was a new arrival at Blacklick Wine and Spirits and it's always nice to try a new beer from an in-state brewery that I'm not familiar with. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear copper color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice and hoppy, the brew smells mostly like citrusy (grapefruit, orange peel) and pine hops, and some caramel malt. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, but the citrusy hop flavors seem weaker in the taste. It's still a good, hoppy brew. There's also a lingering bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and is well carbonated. I think it's a solid beer, and at $4.99 a bottle I'd pick this up again. Hopefully I'll see some of their other offerings in the area soon.

Got this one thanks to my wife from a recent Shopping trip. Pours out a golden apple ciderish look with a thick white head. Very good lacing. Smells are normal with the hops coming up at first and then a pretty substantial malt backing. First taste has a good mix of malt and hops. Second taste has mostly hop. Decent mouthfeel for style. Overall a good offering. Just heard of this brewery when I got the beer and look forward to trying more from them. Especially since they are only about 25 minutes up the road.

I enjoyed it and was surprised to find this beer at wing warehouse. Beat the pants off of the domestics on tap. This is an excellent example of a pale ale. Medium red/ brown pronounced hops smell and tasty w/o being too bitter. Excellent with spicy food in my case hot wings.
