This is a pretty decent amber. The flavor profile is kind of tangy and a bit too much at that. Feel is pretty good with just a bit too much on the carbonation. Pretty easy drinking beer, though something you really sip and don't think about. I guess you'd say it's not overly inspiring.

Pours a deep brown with slight reddish tinge. Nose is mostly malt and a whiff of alcohol. Only a thin ring of foam around the edges of the glass and across the surface of the beer. Very little lacing. But, in fairness, I didn't give it a very aggressive pour.
Mouthfeel is about right, lots of prickly carbonation, medium viscosity. Taste is fairly solid, enough hop bite on the back end to keep it from being too sweet (I'm not a fan of overly malty beers like Oktoberfests.) Notes of licorice, a little smokiness and malt predominate.
The first sip didn't impress me, but as I continued sampling it, this beer grew on me. I'd like to try it a few more times and especially on tap. Not what you usually expect from an amber, although that's a pretty broad stye descriptor, so I guess it fits. Reminds me more of a brown ale, but a decent one notwithstanding. Certainly worth drinking again.

Thanks dakkon54! Actually had it on tap back in Medina, but wasnt a big reviewer yet.
Bright amber body with huge carbonation. Bid fluffy white head.
Nice smell, actually. Not a hoppy red, but a very malt forward smell. Biscuit malt with thick heavy grains. Kind of reminds me of Great Lakes grain bill, only lighter.
Very metallic taste, almost dominant. The light malt comes in (just a bit of the big biscuit malt), just no where near where the smell leads you to believe. Slighty toasted malt comes in for a bit of flavor as well. Light hints of orange as well (totally not expected).
Body feels light and slick. This thing was built for drinkability.
Overall, not a bad beer and a bit underwhelming. No off flavors, just a bit weak.

The initial reaction to this red is that there is something wrong. It has a funkiness that isn't right. The malt/yeast combo has a problem.
The color is good. It has a thin head and little aroma.
It is a bit disappointing for a local area brewer to have one that doesn't cut it, but this is one I will avoid in the future. Without something better I may avoid the brewer.

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Pours a hazy brown color with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Seems to be quite a bit of carbonation.
S: Toasted malt, caramel, and roasted spices.
T: This is quite sweet- caramel and toffee mostly. Some toasted grain and just a hint of hops, but then even more sweetness on the finish.
M: Medium-bodied, a bit sticky from the sweetness.
O: Not bad. I'd prefer a bit less sweetness to let the malt's qualities shine through more, but at the end of the day it's quite drinkable & not bad for a brewery new to me.

A bomber bottle, from Vintage Estates.
A: The red ale is a ferric color, orange like a new penny. Clear, the ale does get a little hazier near the mouth of the glass. A thin white head, less than a half-finger, is leaving a few legs behind.
S: Lightly roasted malts and a resounding caramel sweetness. The sweetness reminds me of the first bite of a caramel cube. A little spiciness even comes out of the glass.
T: Wow, not bad. Not bad at all. The caramel sweetness drives most of the flavor, adding a little butterscotch as well (not an infection mind you, just more sugary sweetness). As the caramel initially passes, citrus hops briefly spring up to add some bite. They are quick to recede though, disappearing back into the caramel wasteland. A plain but approachable red ale.
M: Chewy, the ale brings plenty of caramel to the table. The mid-sip hops are a needed change of pace. A decent amber.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy brown. Not too much going on for it here, just a slightly boring brown tone. Low carbonation with poor lacing.
Smell - I get a slight hint of spice, but can honestly not smell anything else. I really tried to bring out the other notes but was unsuccessful.
Taste - Tastes like a slight spiced american adjunct lager. It does not taste alcoholic at all and actually reminded me more of drinking a spiced tea. It was quite bland.
Mouthfeel - Swirling it around my mouth was very unpleasant. It brought out some unidentified diaper taste that I didn't enjoy at all.
Drinkability - Easily drinkable.
Verdict - I bought this to support local breweries, but I was very disappointed overall. It's smell, taste, appearance, everything was quite a let down to me. I will give another brew by Lagerheads a try if I see one.
