Nice dark color. Exactly what I like to see in a porter. Smell is slightly roasty, slightly chocolate, totally appropriate in a porter. Taste is similar, and sufficiently complex for a brown porter. Mouthfeel is thin though. Too thin for a porter, and its the one thing standing between this beer and greatness.

Overall, average beer. Fix the watery mouthfeel and this is easily a "B" beer

Some porters are either chocolate or coffee heavy (or both) and can be quite chewy.
This porter isn't all that fancy, and therein lies the attraction for me.

A nice dark brown pour with off tan head. Looks a bit thin contrasted with some American style versions.

Aroma and flavor lean heavily toward a roasted barley persuasion. Hints of chocolate and coffee remain, but baked toffee comes through more so. It tastes like a hearty beer without the high abv or the thickness of other porters. Perhaps this is traditional.

The feel is a tad thin. And while this allows the flavors to be enjoyed, it doesn't hold on to them for very long.

Solid beer

Pours a hazy super dark brown with a thumbs width mocha head. A rich, sweet creamy aroma of roasted barley and some chocolate. Flavor threw me for a little loop at first as the richness the aroma offered wasn't there and the flavor was thinner than I expected, allowing the roastiness to dominate. Some silkiness to the mouthfeel to go with a mouthfeel bordering between thin and medium. Overall, a decent brew. Got a 4 pack off tallboys of this that I will have no problem putting down but probably won't be seeking this one out asap afterwards.

This was a nitro-tap beer and was served in a english tulip pint glass.

Appearance:Great appearance for a porter (Brown porter) and also a unfiltered beer. Great clarity!

Smell: was great, chocolate and roasted malts galore and smelled almost like a light toasted smell.

Taste: Was a nice change from the typical robust porter. Chocolaty sweet note's of malt with hints of carmel. A nice roasted finish and not such a heavy porter.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy, nitrogen compliments this beer and made me want more and the roasted malt just added a nice feel to this.

Growler served into a pint glass at around 50 degrees.

Appearance is that of Coca-Cola with deep redish brown color and good clarity. The head is creamy smooth but settles quickly.

Aroma is sweet and roasty with a little bit of earthy hops.

Flavor is somewhere between a brown and a porter. It has the roasted malt of the porter but in a more mild/less assertive way. A caramel, toffee, milk chocolate type of sweetness is something more like what I would expect in a brown. Almost like a sweet stout? Maybe I should stop trying to define it by style and just enjoy it.

Mouthfeel is medium light in body and low in carbonation. It's drinking really nice from the growler.

Overall a really enjoyable and sessionable dark ale of some variety or another.

Excellent beer. Pours a dark brown, almost black with a thick, creamy, tan head. Nice retention and lacing.

The smell was of chocolate and roasted malt with some grassy and earthy hops in the back. Nothing outstanding, but nice, mild balanced aroma.

The taste was of dark chocolate and roasted coffee, roasted malts, and earthy hops. Some spicy herbal hops in moderation with a touch of grass. Nicely balanced. The balance of chocolate and roast is perfect. Hint of smoke.

Not overly complex, but very balanced simple porter done right.
