Notes:
Did someone ask for hops? Tired of beers that promise a full lupulin experience, but never deliver more than richly malted bitterness? It’s no secret that this is what we excel at. We’ve been brewing world class IPAs for years. Our flagship is the culmination of a decades worth of studying and brewing. Take a step above and acclimate to what an IPA should be.

Big thanks to shuntstout for this one! Reviewed from notes. Poured from 16 oz. can into an Upland pint glass.

A: Pours a mildly hazy copper with a one-finger white head and moderate carbonation.

S: Wow, this is nice! Citrus, tropical fruit, melon, dank, and mild pine and grass hops with just a bit of biscuit malt lurking underneath.

T: Follows the nose in notes, with a bit more melon and spice hops coming to the forefront (with the sweet tropical, citrus, and sweet grass/dank hay hops). Some malt shows up about halfway through the drink, but this is unabashedly a hop bomb. Moderate hop bitterness in the hang.

M: Nice mouthfeel - light but chewy body, and moderate alcohol. Good carbonation sensation.

O: Very tasty, absolutely a standout IPA. I prefer the hop profile in Jai Alai (maybe a bit of homerism here), but if this was on the shelves it would absolutely be a regular in my refrigerator. Highly recommended.

Poured from a 16 oz. "tall boy" can into an unbranded becker pint glass

Pours golden amber capped by a two finger off-white fluffy head. Average retention and hints of splotchy lacing. Big pineapple notes and mixed tropical fruit aromas on the nose accented by pine resin. Pineapple, mango, and grapefruit rind initially; ample sweet malt adds balance and takes a bit of the edge off the bitterness. Finishes with resiny bitterness, but certainly not over the top. Smooth and silky; on the heavier side of medium bodied due to the fairly hefty malt presence. An excellent IPA that borders on a Double IPA. Although listed as reaching the "100 IBU" level, this brew delivered on the hoppy bitterness while still managing to maintain some balance. Very well done and enjoyable.

La Cumbre Brewing Co. - Elevated IPA

Got this from Hendry, nice snag, gotta love having brews from all over. This one was a treat for sure.

Look - Pours a hazy foaming orange with a full soapy head. Nice abundant sticky lacing. Minimal carbonation.

Smell - Snappy resin and pine aromas, smooth malts underneath. Crisp and mouth-watering.

Taste - Blasting pine hops from the start, then a a wave of piney resin comes in hard but rides down smooth. Super unique blend, excellent blend of hops

Mouthfeel - Sticky mouthfeel but crisp and refreshing. Quite drinkable, slight booziness present but welcome.

Overall - Unique in the AIPA category, quite a nice pine and resin mixture of hoppy blast. This is a slammer of hop destruction, awesome!

With the stellar WORLD CLASS ratings, I'm always looking for a "sleeper" IPA, so Elevated seemed to fit that bill based on the reviews. The distribution of Elevated is more limited than one might imagine with such favorable ratings, so courtesy of BeerandBoards, Elevated IPA was expertly packed with some other local faves.

Thoughtful, colorful Southwest artwork is attractive and inviting on this fresh 16 oz tallboy can.
Deep amber and relatively clear, this American IPA retains a commendable head of soapy white foam.Lively but not overly carbonated, it has a pleasant appearance overall.

Nose is herbal, tropical juicy, and slightly malty all at once. Elevated has a unique aroma like no other IPA I have tried thus far: pleasant and inviting, but not overpowering in either the hop or malt department.

The flavors are an interesting blend: zippy IBU count, herbal and piney, citrus notes present and accounted for. Mouthfeel is straight medium, moderately oily, slightly chewy. Aftertaste is a slick balance of hoppy goodness and rich but not overshadowing malt content.

This is a sleeper IPA that deserves more attention and wider distribution. The fact that my friend could not find Elevated IPA @ Lonestar Beer while visiting Texas illustrates my point.
Worthy of a purchase, recommended, and enjoyable, Elevated IPA warrants closer inspection if you are able to get your hands on it.

16 oz can, canned 7 weeks ago.

Appearance - caramel in color, clear, nice thick head with long retention, great lacing.

Smell - Fresh hops and more fresh hops.

Taste - Tart, more tart than bitter, very hoppy. Gives you a tart twang in the jaw. Not malty. Has a great aftertaste. Refreshing as well as fresh tasting.

Mouthfeel - Good, not too thin or to thick and slightly fizzy.

I don't think there is a better IPA on the planet. A fabulous beer in this style.

16 oz. can. Canned 3 weeks ago.

Faint haze in a light orange-copper body. Thick, dense, foam cushion of bright light beige head. Excellent lacing. Beautiful! Lots of hops on the nose. Pineapple, mango, funky cannabis resins, mandarin orange, and grapefruit. Maybe a little caramelized fruit malt in there, but this is all about deliciously fresh hops and they shine.

Bitter hop resins up front. Bitterness is joined by citrusy, almost tart, hop acidity. Resinous, weedy notes then take over. Sugary fruit and caramel malt body fill in underneath, but can't do much to take away from the hop dominance. Pineapple, mango, and cat pee make some noise toward the finish. Bitterness increases into the finish. Dry, with lots of lingering tropical fruits, resinous funk, pine, and even some sugary malt. Medium-full body with a thick, creamy feel. Delicious and palate wrecking!
