It took a minute to find this place. I drove right past it with GPS navigation turned on. The signage isn't good and it is sandwiched between some other stores. I was able to park in the street.
This is a small, unassuming place with some great beers. I happened to be here during their 1-year anniversary week and so got to try some speciality brews. Most noteworthy was the Cherry Infused Wee Heavy.
I had the veggie burger and salad for dinner. The burger was fine but could have had a bit more flavor and crispness. The salad and dressing were good.
The layout is basically one fairly large room with the bar in the center and tables around the walls.
The location is pretty convenient to the Western suburbs and the airport is nearby.
It's a nice spot although I like their brew pub downtown more.

The beer is top tier which should surprise no one. Besides the Town Hall beers, there where many other options, both foreign and domestic. They started serving local beers so I saw Surly, Summit, and Brau Brothers on-tap. Also three hand-pulled ales available.
Service and atmosphere can be hit or miss. My latest visit was very disappointing. Too many screaming kids for my tastes. Better to come when the families are not around. The service varies from good to poor. The food is very good and the kitchen seems well run, too bad this great food is left to die a slow death in the pass-through. This last time I know my order sat there for over 10 minutes. Had the pork wings, the wings were just barely warm and the fries were a touch soggy. Not the kitchens fault I was served this. Could not even comment because the server never bothered to come back and ask me how it was. Bad form.
Prices are about what I expected considering the location and quality of beer and food.
If they could get the front of house figured out, this would be one of the best establishments in the metro.

Made a stop here on a Friday evening around seven and the place was packed to the gills. Standing room only and even that was a bit scarce. Very cool interior with beer memorabilia all over. Dimly lit which I like. A good variety of guest taps, I believe about 10 in all, one cask line that had Summit Oatmeal Stout (why not a TH brew?), three Town Hall seasonals and four year rounds as well. A nice variety of beers overall. Didn't try the food and really didn't get to experience service full on as we didn't stay long due to the high volume of people. I think I prefer the good old regular Town Hall, but this is a nice neighborhood joint and a place I will have to visit again.

48th and chicago on west side of chicago st
A spin off from the original MTHB..is town hall tap as you walk in a beautiful bar on the left side is adorned with a huge mirrored carved oak mantel with taps lined up in the rear..on the right side are pub tables and booths,,stained glass and lots of beer memorabilia hang on the wall..wood floors thru-out,and 2 big garage doors that will open when the weather is nice
service was good as this was lunchtime but still the place was 75% full.all the brews were listed on two different chalkboards must have been close to 20 taps.1 cask, about 8 mthb brews, and several guest taps..a nice selection
food was good but not great..we had burgers and wings ..i like the food better at MTHB ..but its still good and im here for the beer first so not an issue
Overall a great looking bar with a good tap list ..its a place close to the house and will be going there many more times

A satellite restaurant of Minneapolis Town Hall this establishment is located on 48th and Chicago. They redid the restaurant that was there and did some really nice custom woodwork to give the place a really nice bar atmosphere. You'll see some familiar faces working there if you ever were a regular at Town Hall. There beers are all brewed at the main brewery but they feature some that are different than TH, like the Parkway Java Porter that is one of my favorites. Their food menu is also different that TH with more along the lines of just sndwiches and burgers. They have several (I think 4) taps strictly dedicated to ciders. They also have sevaral rotating guest taps and a cask line. Some of the servers still seem pretty new so the service isn't always the best but I think that will improve with some time.
Overall, this has become a nice bar to pop in and have a beer and food at.

Townhall tap is definitely one of my go-to bars. I find myself at the tap at least a couple times a month. The atmosphere is pretty solid at the tap. During the summer it's excellent with the walls pulled up and the restaurant open to the street. Even in the cooler times, the room makes for a comfortable and enjoyable hangout. The music can be hit or miss but that's not a huge deal breaker for me.
The Quality at townhall tap has been pretty good. I have yet to have a beer there that wasn't quality. The townhall offerings have all been very good quality.
Service is what I would expect from a craft beer bar. Most of the staff knows there stuff although you'll have hit or miss situations when the server knows very little about the beer. I was told one of there seasonal's was like a corona (I think it was a pale ale). Overall, service has been good, though and they're always prompt to fill my glass. One excellent thing I've noticed is they'll very kindly ask bar patrons if they'd mind scooting over to accommodate larger party's. Nice touch there.
Selection is ok at the tap. They have 4, I believe, standard house offerings at all times. The dortmunder is always excellent after a long day of work. The Masala mama always delivers and the coffee porter is sure to please. In addition to these are many seasonals from Townhall. These rotate often and are very good. Try the smoked hefeweizen! One major gripe I have is that although townhall has another 10-15 guest taps at all time, there is a poor showing of local beers. We live in an area populated with so many breweries yet I never see them on tap. It's frustrating for me to see so many beers from thousands of miles away when breweries less than 100 miles away get no ticket to the show. Please change this Townhall Tap! Support local craft beer! On a more positive note, however, is that Townhall tap always 3 cask offerings on and they've been excellent.
The food is always good at the tap. The staples for my fiance and I are the deep fried pickles (2 thin slices w/ cream chees and panko breading). It's served with a Jalepeno/blackberry chutney. Very good. The Hidel burger is excellent and they've had no problem hitting my requested temps when I'm in. What I do think needs to happen is changes in the menu. I'm pretty sure it's been the same for 9 months. Oh yea... pork wings. Try them!
The townhall tap is a pretty good value. The house beers are a great deal. Something like $5.50 for a 20 oz pour. Good deal there. The food isn't expensive either.
Overall, I love townhall tap. I hope to see a changing menu and more local craft beers on tap in the future which would really elevate this good bar into an excellent bar.
