So glad I checked this site for good liquor stores in the ellicott city area. Everything I bought was exceptionally priced and there was a 10% off coupon I printed offline that I used. I got the last 2 120 minutes which I've never been able to find! Here's what I bought:

2 x 120 minute - $9/each
Brooklyn Local 2 - $9
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace - $9
Southern Tier Oak Aged Back Burner - $7
Petrus Aged Pale - $9
Petrus Aged Red - $9

This place is on almost on par with Shawan Liquors in terms of quality/selection and some of the prices here were actually better (e.g. Sorachi Ace at Shawan Liquors was $11/$12)

Stopped by here to pick up a wine order, but seeing as how I'd never been here before, I thought I'd check out the beer selection as well. Wow!. This place is comparable to the Wine Source and Shawan liquor in terms of selection. It's a bit disorganized, but they had an excellent selection of craft beer and imports. This has to be only the third place I know of in town that carries the "thank you, thank you very much" IPA from CC, and the rest of the selection was every bit as impressive. Also, the store had around 8 or 9 cold boxes, loaded down with 6 packs and bombers of craft beer (wine coolers and macro swill as well, but still). There was an equally large selection of craft beer and imports on shelves and various displays.

Prices here seemed to be pretty good, and Pine Orchard frequently runs specials where you can get 10% off of anything (beerwise - wine disconts are even better) not on sale.

Service is really the only thing lacking here. This is a good size store and what staff there is, seems to spend most of their time directing customers where to find the chardonnay or cabernet section. Still, the folks working here were otherwise friendly enough, and I imagine can answer most basic questions.

Impressive. I'll definitely be back.

Edit from 3/24/11. Really need to say something about the prices here. Prices are generally fairly reasonable here, but their sale prices are often jaw dropping (incredibly cheap). Also, the website has discount coupons, so there's really no reason to ever have to pay shelf price. Finally, on occasion Pine Orchard has a "dollar day" sale, where almost everything in the store is only a dollar over the wholesale price (the store's cost). They just had such a sale yesterday and Tuesday, and the prices I saw were some of the best I've ever seen in the US. No exaggeration... I saw prices for some Oregon wines that were lower than anything I've ever seen back in Portland. Just be careful what you buy here, as there does seem to be some problem with turnover (a lot of stuff looks to have been languishing on the shelf for some time). Nevertheless, I can't recommend highly enough this "new to me" store in Ellicott City.
