very nice deep dark brown, nearly black and opaque with a smallish, maybe one inch white to off white head on top. This faded gradually leaving behind a nice amount of side glass lace. Smell was very sweet, nice hints of nuts and caramel, along with a roasted barley. The taste was very smooth, and rich and creamy. Very nice caramel flavor with a hint of coffee. Roasted nuts in the back

A: Pours a nice dark brown hue with a nice tall tan colored head. Nice retention and lace.

S: Very much chocolate with bold notes of dark fruit.

T: Chocolate roasted malt with notes of real rich chocolate chocolate. The dark fruit is there for sure along with some sweet caramel. The finish has a bit of bitterness. Real solid brew.

M: Medium in body, slick mouthfeel smooth as a babies behind.

D: Good, perfect balance and great taste. Real good beer.

On-tap at their tasting room, the brewmaster said it is an ale, so it's not a Baltic Porter. Served an almost opaque black with ruby highlights and leaves spotty lacing. The aroma was loads of brown malts and cocoa with a hint of roastiness. The taste was nice and complex; malts, chocolate, and fresh coffee. The beer was medium bodied and smooth. This was a one of the best beers I've had from these guys and did not hesitate to pick up 2 growlers of this to take home.
