Thanks to Skuter for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a foamy beige head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, herbal hops, and a slight funky and rotten aroma that fades over time. Taste is much the same without the funky/rotten element but there is an earthy and herbal finish. There is a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average beer with a weird smell but decent taste.

L - hazed copper color with a off-white head that settled to a layer leaving a few spots of lacing.

S - earthy and floral aroma.

T - malt is the main flavor here earthy with a hint of floral hops and light bitterness on the finish.

F - medium bodied with mild carbonation.

O - just an average pale ale.

Pours a copper orange, little froth and lacing. Scent is mostly grassy hops, faintly sweet malts, light toasted grain, touch of muddy and metallic water. Leads with grassy and spicy but only lightly bitter hops, malt backbone is light and muddled, almost more sugary than malty. Medium bodied, active carbonation. Almost too pale of a pale ale.

Pours a clear amber with a soapy white head that fades slowly and leaves nice lacing.

The aroma is of toast, with some scortched molasis notes, and even some roasty tones. Also a nice grassy hops in the back.

Nice balance of grassy and floral hops woth a caramel bottom. Hints of molasis and some roasty notes.

The beer feels fine. Interesting and easy to drink. Definitely try one.

Tin Roof Voodoo Bengal has a thick, frothy, cream-colored head, a mostly clear, amber appearance, streaming bubbles, and very thick lacing left on the glass. The aroma is faint, but one can detect some roasted malt, sweetness, and hop oil. Taste is of sweet malt, bread crust, bitter hops, and some light sugar. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Tin Roof Voodoo Bengal finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, I think this is a delicious beer.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a standard pint.

A: Dark amber hue. Pours about a 1 finger, densely foamy, white head. Settles slowly. Never fully dissipates. I've opened several of these, and they always explode out of the can. I don't mean that in a bad way... they just have a really nice carbonation to them. Very thick, persistent, coating lacing.

S: Papery, crisp pine, and resin.

T: A very soft resiny hop with something of a very light woody character.

M: Really crisp. Fairly light body, but not washed-out.

D: Really easy drinking brew. Well-balanced.

Atmosphere is really nice. Dark hue, dense thick head, really heavy lacing. Nose is a little piney and a little resiny. Light and crisp resiny hop character with a touch of wood. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

The second beer from Tin Roof's initial two-beer roll-out, this one is a Pale Ale brewed with local cane syrup.

The appearance is very similar to the Perfect Tin Amber, a deep amber color with good carbonation.

The smell is sweet and hoppy simultaneously, like a good pale ale should be. The cane syrup adds a hint of molasses sweetness to the nose.

It's not overly hoppy, but still a good blend of malts, hops, and cane syrup hints.

This is my favorite of the two initial beers... again really happy to see more local brews!

Served in a nonic pint glass at The Chimes on Highland in Baton Rouge. The beer appeared amber in color and had a thin white head. There were some visible tiny bubbles in the beer. The aroma was malty with some hops. It smelled a little sweet. The flavor was bready and mildly sweet with soem grassy hops. the body is medium with moderate carbonation. The finish is smooth and the drinkability is high. This is a very good pale ale that is worth trying.

A - Pours a translucent golden amber with a 2 finger bone head. Okay lacing.

S - Faint sugars, grassy & roasty notes.

T - Light grassy hops, molasses & a slightly bitter finish.

M - Crisp, drinkable good carbonation.

O - Not a wow style of beer but it'll hit the spot.

On tap served in a special Perfect Tin pint glass. Deep amber color with an adequate head which was well laced. Lots of carbonation. A notable roast taste with hoppy undertones. Nice balance between the malts and the slightly bitter hops gave a pleasing mouthfeel. Also, hints of a perfusion of mirliton and night-flowering jasmine, possibly an influence of the Louisiana cane sugar. A great pale ale that I would heartily recommend to my beer-swilling relatives. Look forward to drinking in from a bottle.

Amber in colour and very clean pour. Small amount of head retention. Smell light caramel, and citrus. The hop note is apparent on first sip, but leaves very quickly. Medium malt taste. All flavours balance well, this a more traditional rendition of a British Pale ale.

The beer pours a translucent copper orange, with continuous small bubble streams rising from the bottom of the glass. The head is a thick beige foam that sticks to the glass with good lacing while you drink.

Aroma is heavy with floral hops and citrus, and a hint of caramel/malt sweetness.

Voodoo Bengal has a classic pale ale taste. It has 4 different types of hops in it, and that's the flavor that hits you first. The beer also has a good sweet malt balance to it. There is a good hop bitterness to it at the finish.

A good tasting beer, but a bit thin feeling in your mouth, despite the moderate carbonation it has. It does lend itself to being a good session beer.

Overall, I certainly like it. Makes me wish I had a big plate of crawfish in front of me!

On-tap at Burgersmith in Lafayette.

This was the only Tin Roof beer at Burgersmith. Initially, this beer had a burnt taste that I could not describe. This taste was only present in the first few sips. Mouthfeel was decent. Taste was a decent Pale Ale taste. I suppose the beer ended short on the palate. Overall, this was just a decent pale ale. Nothing great, but a good enough offering from a local brewery.
