I had this beer at the SLO Xtreme beerfest. It pours a very cloudy golden color with an antique white head. It demonstrates good head retention. Citrus and pine nose. Clean, crisp pine presence up front that quickly yields to raw oat flavor. Interesting, but not my favorite.

Picked up a bomber in late April from Total Wine for $6.99.
Beer poured orange with a very nice head that is leaving lacing behind.
Nose is mildly sweet with some citrus hops.
Taste is classic belgian yeast strain, some coriander, light pepper, citrus hops. Brew has a nice lively zing to it.
Mouthfeel is classic belgian yeast smoothness with a nice lighter body.
Overall this is a brew that is tasty and refreshing, one i would definitely do again!

Initial taste is creamcycle orange. The hop taste remains there but it is an aged taste. Light orange body and a great long lasting head. I just received this bottle from Lueken's Liquors. There may have been some time since brewed, which should not be critical for a Belgian IPA. Good drinkability though not the best I have had in the style .Above average mouthfeel.

Pours dark amber with a large, white head.
Very Belgian aroma, very phenolic with some spicy, herbal and grassy hops too alongside a little light malt.
Similar flavours; spicy and herbal hops, spicy Belgian notes, and a very dry finish.
Too much carbonation.

Pours a golden hue with a creamy three finger head and clingy lacing everywhere, the smell is mandarins, bready Belgian yeast, pepperoni, piney hops and spices, the mouthfeel is medium bodied with above moderate carbonation and has tastes of spicy zesty citrus infused hops, bready Belgian yeast, mandarins, lemons, peaches and finished with a piney hop spicy bitter finish and overall it's a nice mix of Belgian and American IPA and would drink again cheers.

Poured from 650 mL bottle into brandy snifter.
A-Golden yellow with a slight haze. Nice looking and substantial white head that forms easily when pouring. Moderately good retention. Lacing is also quite nice with a wall forming when the glass is tipped. The wall breaks into lines and islands.
S-Musty belgian yeast with some apple fruitiness to it. Could be my bad sense of smell but I maybe also detect some citrus or something a bit more tart.
T-The first thing that strikes me is a bit of funky yeast that saison-like in nature. There is just a slight hint of sweetness at the front of the tongue, presumably from some of the light malts. This is followed by some peppery phenolic flavours, which is finally overtaken by the astringency of the hops. Again, there seems to be some citrusy flavours here, but they are not at all prominent.
M-Somewhat effervescent with a good dose of carbonation. The mouthfeel with light to moderately round. Finishes with a good amount of astringency, but doesn't flatten the palate completely.
O-The hops and yeast strike an interesting balance here and this is a unique beer within my realm of experience. The hop character seems to become more perceptible as I drink the glass down. I enjoyed this beer, but I don't have any comparables when it comes to aggressively hopped belgian style beers.

22oz bottle, 7.5% ABV, cool to see yet another offering from this SoCal brewery available somewhat broadly in Alberta. Sexier screened label than what I see above here now.
This beer pours a clear, glassy medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, bubbly, creamy meringue white head, which leaves a random assortment of dainty chain-link fence and chunky blob lace around the glass as it unevenly melts away.
It smells of tart musty apple and pear, a bit of funky yeast, citrus and pine hops, grainy pale malt, lemon-scented cleanser, and further perfumed florals. The taste is bready, grainy cereal malt, more overripe, almost rotten drupe fruit, bitter citrus rind, musty tropical fruit, mildly acerbic pine needles, earthy green yeast, a bit of clove/pepper spiciness, and more booze-infused floral notes.
The bubbles are low-key, frothy at times, and just plain supportive, the body a more-or-less adequate medium weight, and duly smooth, as the hops here don't seem to stray out that far, so good, I guess. It finishes off-dry, the hetero-orchard fruitiness (citrus and apples, mostly) having a go at permanence, while the yeast, bitter hops, and alcohol each seem worthy to stage a coup, but can't really just get it together.
All the hallmarks of the style are here, to be sure - Belgian-style pale ale, on the high end of the alcohol range, and perky, bitter west-coast Yankee hops. Decent, but without flair, my skirt remaining barely ruffled. Sometimes the whole is not better than the sum of the parts, I would say if I was being unduly pissy. Which I am. Sorry.

650ml bomber poured into tulip 25/3/13
A very slight haze in a golden yellow body, a few tiny bubbles but a large well sustained head leaves a few thick rings of lace followed by random patches, thin film stays to the
S sour apple's stronger then I'd like with some lemon honey and herbal tea, the yeast profiles there but I'm not sure that I should be getting banana, there's some cereal and citrus with some clove and spice, good but not great
T lime and lemon rind with more yeast and even a little pine, faint booze and a peppery spice I wasn't really smelling, less sour apple then the nose and its quite different to my surprise and a little better
M slightly syrupy at first but bubbles fluff it up after its in your mouth, thick with a little heat and a long finish
O it hits the spots but still missing something I can't place but I enjoyed it nonetheless, double speak
I've had some good luck with this brewery and I'll keep paying 10$ to try a bomber but I slightly overpaid for this one

The color is a surprise, clear golden colored ale with a puffy white head. Really looks like a lager in the glass.
Smell is sweet and strongly hopped with a strong coriander aroma. Honeysuckle and herbs aroma strongest scent is crushed cardamom.
Starts out sweet and mildly hoppy with a sweet tea after taste. Slight onion taste. Tastes nothing like smell, just a mild Belgian IPA. Coriander is mild and there is a slight sweetness to this.
Mouthfeel is OK.
An OK beer but there are better Belgian IPAs out there.

On tap at Mohawk Bend in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a clear yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, spices, and Belgian yeast. Taste is much the same with earthy flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but I think it tastes better than it smells.

A good IPA from coronado. it is a little different, in that it is not a "crisp" ipa, it is a little smokey. this coming off of drinking pliny the younger during beer week in san francisco on february 14, 2013.
A - Golden orange color. Light head, not lacing
S - a little smokey aroma, which also translates into the flavor
T - smokey IPA flavor. not malty, just smokey. i imagine this would be a good campfire IPA.
M - mouthfeel is IPA, hoppy, bitter, but the smokeyness lingers. In a good way.
O - overall, I enjoyed this IPA. given the competition for IPAs today, I would be hardpressed to say i would order another but it was good to try, and if the mood strikes me, I would have another.
