Acquired via SS '11 from Mthomas85 so a big THANK YOU goes out to him.
Consumed 4/4
Poured in to a pint glass
A: This beer pours a rust, amber color with a two finger of off white/khaki color head. Head recedes at a minimal pace leaving sitcky sheets of lacing on the glass.
S: Nose is buttery, bready malt with notes of citrus and a hint of pint.
T: Taste starts with an orange, piney flavoring. Buttery bread malt and light grain come in during the middle. Finish is grapefruit and caramel malts.
M: Medium body, medium carnbonation, slick oily feel with a dry finish.
O: Goes down easy, tasty, not too filling, well hidden kick, a nice presentation of style.

Didn't love this but didn't hate this.
I had this soon after it arrived at my favorite beer house on draft. I drank it happily. It had a nice hop to it but wasn't anything super special. I'd get it again only if I was feeling tired of everything else.

poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass
A - pours a deep orangey amber, with a nice one finger white head, stays for a while, and good lacing
S - very sweet citrus, orange /pineapple, as well as grapefruit and pine
T - delicious, sweet orange and pineapple, with a malty backbone and a bitter grapefruitey hop finish
M - a bit thin, but not bad by any means
O - a standout IPA, in a style full of good examples, this once could be in the upper tier

On Tap
The Linkery
San Diego, CA
Golden amber and orange with a touch of haze. Regular, lined lacing down the glass.
Bready aroma with a strong caramel sweetness without a lot of hops. Very simple.
A well-balanced (India?/Island?) pale ale--bready and caramel malts along with a decent amount of hop bitterness. Not a lot of hop flavor, but a definite bitterness that balances the caramel and crystal malts very well. Good.
Medium bodied and incredibly crisp and refreshing.
A good pale ale/IPA--sweet and bready.

Pours a medium amber with fine sediment, bone white two finger head sticks around for a while, then settles to a nice cap leaving a couple thick rings of lace. Smell: subdued floral, orange, and lemon, with light sweetness and a bit buttery, especially as it warms. Not assertive enough. Taste: lots of orange peel, a little grapefruit, then gets herbal (mint, rosemary) in the finish. Bitterness is nice, especially as the drying finish hits, but in the middle it's a little too caramel sweet and that diacetyl comes back as it warms. Not bad but not worth a repeat visit. Bottled 1/20/2011, drank about 4 weeks after.

on tap at barleys last night, they put the keg on as i sat down, so as fresh as could be. served in a pint glass and consumed on 08/14/2010.
nice look up front, with a light amber color that had a decent orange highlight to it. small head of white faded too quickly leaving little lacing and a bare top after a few moments.
aroma is citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, nice buttery malt profile and a hint of light grains that poke their head up. nice feel, fuller then i would have thought with a nice and well rounded profile. nice bite of hops opens the palate an dries it out a bit before a well rounded buttery malt comes through and lightens everything up. good use flavor here again as it stays light and very drinkable with a long finish that makes me come back quickly for more.
overall really well done, i thoroughly enjoyed this one and would welcome it again.

Pours a dark amber color with about one finger of white fluffy head that stays and leaves lacing throughout the beer.
Very nice scent, potent citrus and floral hops.
The taste was citrus fruit upfront with average bitter hop presence. Some sweet malts, coriander and pine are also present.
Light bodied, very smooth and very creamy, low carbonation.
This was a good IPA, it was pretty easy to drink, though it is filling. It could have had a more bitter hop flavor for an IPA, but it was still a very good beer.

Appearance: Golden Amber, almost copper. Poured into a Tulip glass; produced 1-inch of foam and retained somewhat well, could have been a bit more.
Smell: Pines, Good amount of hops, as to be expected from a good IPA
Taste/Mouthfeel: Could smell/taste something resembling coriander, as well as pines. A hint of pineapple sweetness and hops bitterness, not excessive amount, well balanced. Slightly creamy mouthfeel, not excessive.
Notes: strong flavor and overall delicious beer that makes a great IPA my most favourite of those i have tried recently, though i could not drink more than 2 glasses because it does come down heavy like other IPAs. While i have had better this IPA is definitely in my top favourites especially the fact that it is local.

Presentation: Poured into a tulip glass from a growler purchased at Green's-Piney Grove in Columbia, SC.
A: Clear, golden-amber color with a big white fluffy head. Moderate to heavy lacing.
S: Real heavy citrus and pine hops. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple and some very light sweet malt in the background.
T&M: Nice medium bodied IPA that has all the flavors of the scent. Bitter pine and citrus hops hit up front and slowly fade as the background malts mellow the bitterness. Leaves the tongue slightly rough from all the hops.
Excellent IPA! Plenty of hops. Sharp and crisp. High quality brew that I'll sure continue to drink.

Got this beer at the always impressive Flying Saucer during their Coronado release party!
Pours a thin yellow-orange body with a thin light head.
Smells like a beautiful bouquet of chinook and cenntenial hops. It has a nice crystal malt caramel background that provides a balance to the immense hop character.
I love the taste of this brew as much as the smell. It is the perfect example of a west coast IPA with the nose and bittering hops ringing through. It has a great cenntenial forefront flavor with a quick change to crystal and carmelized barley. It quickly turns to bitterness form the columbus and chinook hops that is extremely potent but yet still tolerable. A three part ride over the tongue that you come back for over and over again.
Crisp and dry on the finish and a little rough to drink for anyone outside of the hop-head crowd

I had this draft on my trip to San Diego. We took a trip to the brewpub on Coronado Island. Very good beer. I grabbed a glass of this pale ale as a warm up beer. It was tasty, but nothing to get too excited about. It was hot and the beer refreshed me just perfectly and made me ready to explore the other beers they had on-tap.
Overall a decent pale ale, slightly lighter than I normally go for.

Pours a clear honey amber with a giant white foamy head. The head lasts and leaves nice lacing. The smell is strong with typical IPA aromas, juicy citrus hops and alot of bread yeast. The taste is strong with an initial hop bitterness and follows with citrus and bread yeast flavors. A crisp and very flavorful brew. The m/f is medium with all the flavors mixing well. This is a very tasty beer and I'm surprised at the negative reviews.Cheers

A clear, very light yellow-copper color with a big white foam cap and lots of chunky lacing. The aroma gives off pleasant grapefruit and some very light cereal malt. Nice. The first taste comes on with generous pissy hops that are balanced somewhat with big yeasty bread. There's not much else worth noting. This is a session ipa with plenty of hoppy flavor, sharp and yummy with a medium body quality and tingly carbonation that makes this highly enjoyable. Pour me another one!

22oz bottle poured into pint glass. Was surprised to see a new West Coast offering here in CT.
A - Poured a clear burnt amber color. Very little head. Not much lacing on the glass as I work my way through the beer.
S - Sweet pineapple, citrus, floral notes, hops.
T - A lot of citrus fruit up front - grapefruit and pineapple. This fades to bittering hops. Bitterness lingers for a bit before subsiding.
M - Light bodied. Medium amount of carbonation.
D - A decent West Coast IPA. The 7.5% alc./vol is not apparent. Worth giving this brew a try. Will most likely purchase more.

Juicy IPA - loved it.
Pours medium amber with slight haze, contrasting off-white head that retains well.
Nose is ripe with grapefruit, light pine, and orange wedges. On the palate there's a biscuity sweet malt that dances well with the balancing hops that are somewhat metallic, grapefruity, and pleasantly sharp.
Finish is sharp and hoppy, in a very good way. This is one juicy IPA!

I have seen Coronado beers arond the area for a long time, but never bothered to pick one up for the large variety of other choices. Well, today is the day!
Pours a nice copper-gold with a moderate head- I've seen worse, I've seen better.
Aroma is a nice solid pungent piney oily hop, the kind I usually don't like. But here, it works. Maybe because it isn't too overpowering. Definite West Coast hop influence going on here. But it's a little more subdued in providing some fruitiness that mellows it just a touch. I like that (not being a hophead).
Flavor follows through, providing more than enough grass, pine, juniper, and such to make a vegetarian cry. Hops in the flavor, but not too much astringency at the end of the swallow. It's a little watery, but maybe that's because there are so many rich full DIPAs around anymore, that the poor old regular IPA seems left out.
I like it- I'd get it again before I'd buy some others.

Sampled in a 4 oz sampling glass
This beer pours an incognito orange brown. With the small glass there was little head. The aroma is very subtle floral and sweet. This IPA starts with a great hop bite. Not ridiculously bitter by any means. It's got a lot of hop flavor. Doesn''t strike me as Cascade. The hop flavor subsides and you're left with a fair malt base which is somewhat sweet, not thick or cloying. Very drinkable.
Reminds me of the Hopmaniac IPA at OnTap in La Jolla. Certainly not as bitter or powerful or in-your-fave as Stone ales. I swear that it was listed as a Double IPA on the board above the bar. It fits the regular IPA category pretty well. Very well done IPA.

Light gold color. Medium head. Aroma is slightly fruity. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and slightly sweet. Hops are spicy and fairly bitter. Nice balance. Some hop bite. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
