A: Poured a clear, deep reddish-brown. Head was 2-fingers, with fair retention, and nice lacing.

S: Allspice first, then malt and citrus, finally banana esters. I'm more reminded of banana bread than pumpkin pie.

T: A melange of spices is the first thing that hits the palate, strong but not overpowering. There's a little sweet, bready malt as well. I can taste a fruity/vegetable flavor, but I can't really say it's pumpkin. Hops bitterness is there, but faint in the finish.

M: Moist and refreshing, not especially crisp. Fair carbonation.

O: More spicy than fruity, and more like a hefeweizen than a porter, despite the deep color. My friend with whom I shared it agreed it was the best thing we sampled all night. Next year, I'll definitely go back to the brewery for this limited seasonal beer.
