Simple, proper brew pub. You'd pass right by it if you didn't know what you were looking for. Parking is limited but sufficient for the size of the place which is rather small.
No food is served so you can bring your own or local delivery companies will deliver there. They also have food trucks for special events/tappings. Board games and TVs plus a very knowledgeable, passionate staff. A nice selection of craft beers on tap including the ones they are most known for such as I-10 IPA and Peoples Pale Ale.
A flight of 6 costs about $8 so I consider this place a great value considering the selection and freshness.
I will certainly go back many more times in the future - probably with a small group of friends.

last visit aug 2012:
The selection is way up to 15 some days.
Its still a clique place, but friendly. Meaning when they are slow they will chat, but if their buddies show up.
Then just be thankful you get served, of course if you a young pretty female your review will be different, lol. Anyway its not a great place to hang out, but once your drunk anyplace is great to hang out I guess.
The beer ranges from really good to so so. of course it caters to hop heads.
I understand its my problem but I just want a standard porter, and Standard PA, oh well I keep coming back every now and then hoping.
Still it worth trying, its the best brewery in town but that is still not saying much.
Prices are decent.
Was at the grand opening, which was a mad house. circa 2010
we been back twice since then. The tap room is to be frank, is kind of stale and sterile. I start with the bad and end on the good. the open air picnic area is better than the tap room.
Atmosphere: the last visit, the bartender had a phone plugged in to give us some Pandora. Usually its bland, no music, they got wifi I guess if your bring it with you its a great place, hell I do that @ home and save cash. You think its a brewery how about special beer, 1 offs, casks, cheaper prices but nope. they all need to visit Cigar city and learn from the best in Florida.
The bad: parking. you park your car and prey your car is there when you leave. to say its in a dodgy part of town is a understatement. I been hit up for money twice on leaving the place, its sad, but they need to fence in and pave the parking. If it rains get ready to get muddy.*AUG 2011: I was told they have gotten security now, one hopes so.
the good part: if your a hop head this is the place for you if you don't mind overpriced 14oz drafts, you think @ the brewery the beer be cheap, but you be wrong, AND while at grand opening the stout was a full shaker pint, now they claim its somewhere between 7.5% and up ABV, (no1 knows for sure). anyway you get a half pour of that now. again if you love hoppy west cost beers this place is in your wheel house, me I was hoping for something different brewery wise. I was hoping for Belgian like beer, if you are don't waste your time here, all the beers are over hopped for the style IMHO.
AUG 2011: anyway the prices are now 4 bucks a pint so that is good, for most of the beers anyway. the Sasion was not bad and not as hoppy, the alt was also semi balanced.
Service: @ the bar well since there were only 4 or 5 folks there it was good.
AUG 2011 we opened the place so service was as good as it gets.
But as 5pm happened it go so crowded service was slightly off until the extra bartender showed p.
value: well @ 4/5 + a 14 oz pint its the same rip off every other bar in town has
OVERALL: best tap room in town atm, beers will hopefully get better and better.

What I get the biggest kick out is the fact its first just a pub, and of course it's the brewers pub.
Its got 1 TV. Its very very clannish. Its a mug club crowd mostly. The place is frankly depressing, nothing to do, but bring your own device, or watch tv. There is weird music on allot. Frankly the place reminds me of a brick cave, kind of like a dungeon.
It's fresh beer so that counts.
service is funny, sometimes its fast and others its not, and your right there at the bar. I guess the beertenders get bored refilling beer, so they chat and chat, did I mention clique, very unfriendly place. I guess they hate older folks, its a very young crowd.
selection well its their beer or nothing, no guest taps, which in this day in age, is a faux pa. I would not want to compare their beers to any other good beer either If was them.
no food but you can bring your own.
don't get the sample trey if your blind, you never tell them apart, until you get to the hop bombs anyway.
5 dollar sniffer is TOTAL BS.
