Half finger head with excellent lacing on a murky golden with copper hue body. Clove, citrus and Belgian yeast aroma with a musty Belgian yeast, clive, herbal and earthy hop flavor. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The beer is true to the style and well balanced for both malt and hop preserve. The Belgian character is strong. A nice brew.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.

A - Filled close to the brim, with a thin near-complete white cap, thick collar, and splotchy lace. Lightly hazed bronze body.

S - Big Citra hop aroma imparts notes of juicy citrus and a hint of onion, while the Belgian yeast adds a phenolic touch. Malt bill seems more Belgian, with stone fruits and wheat dominating.

T - Taste has more wheat and less sweetness. Citrus flavors are more bitter peel and less juicy flesh, although it gets a tad sweeter as it warms. More Belgian yeast character as well, with moderate hop bitterness in the finish.

M - Dry, chewy, medium body, with lower carbonation. Plenty of resinous hop oils in the finish and no obvious alcohol.

D - A very nice beer, and one of Haymarket's best hoppy Belgian offerings. Would gladly drink this one again in a larger serving next time I'm down there.
