On-tap at Haymarket.
A - Pours a golden/orange color, slightly mirky, spotty lace.
S - Big citrus hop aroma, some sweetness in there as well, some pine in there too. Really though, a lot of citrus and tropical malty sweetness.
T - Similar to the nose, but even bigger hop presence and less on the sweetness. Tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, orange peels. There some alcohol in there as well, which is a bit off-putting for a 7% beer. I think it should be hidden a bit more here. Finish is slight alcohol and big tropical bitterness.
M - Medium, good carbonation, oily hoppy finish.
O - A decent DIPA, but this didn't wow me as much as some of there other hoppy offerings. The 7% shows up a bit too much, and that's the main detractor for me. Good, not great.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.
A - Similar to most Haymarket offerings with one finger of off-white foam, partial cap, thick collar, splotchy lace, etc. Transparent golden bronze color.
S - Pine, hint of cat pee, some lemons and grapefruits. Pretty much all hops here, as the malt has decidedly neutral bread and grain flavors. Still, it doesn't 'sizzle' like other hop-forward DIPAs.
T - Taste is also redolent of pine, bitter grapefruit, lemons, and grass. Malt imparts a kiss of sweetness, but is otherwise mostly bready.
M - Even though this is listed at 7% it seems like a bigger beer. Substantial medium-full body is plenty hefty, and there's a touch of warming alcohol present. Chewy and slightly resinous finish.
D - I don't generally like Chinook-heavy beers but this was surprisingly palatable and I'd probably order it again. A tad to bitter and "foresty" for consumption in larger quantities, but a nice change-of-pace offering.
