I'm starting to gather that consistency and quality control are issues at this place. Remembered enjoying a pint of this at West Lafayette's food festival this past summer, so I filled up a growler before leaving the pub.

Came home and cracked the growler open. It looked and smelled fine, but the flavor was drug down considerably by a thin body and surprisingly syrupy back end. It seriously had the same bad sticky maltiness you get in not-so-great double IPAs, but without the gigantic hop and alcohol wallop to make the weirdness more tolerable.

The hop profile is still solid, and it was drinkable, but the Thre3e Wise Men have to start brewing more consistently--and not releasing off batches--if they wish to keep up with Sun King and Flat12.

On draft at Scotty's in Bloomington. My first foray into 3 Wisemen outside of tastings at festivals.

Pours dark gold with a small white head with little retention.

Some citrus on the aroma, but really very bland especially considering the style. Toffee malts come through a lot more than the hops. Smells more like a red than an IPA.

Again not nearly enough hoppiness in the flavor and what is there is astringent. The body is decent, but with such a low hop presence it finishes way too malty and also has a weird metallic aftertaste.

Medium bodied medium carbonation.

Don't know if this is a bad batch or what, but it was hard getting to the bottom of the glass. Way too malt forward especially considering it's only 5.0% with an aftertaste that doesn't make you want to go back for more. Hopefully this is just a bad batch so I'll give it another shot in the future.

So I actually happened upon this place on accident...Brugges Brasserie across the street was closed (don't know why) so I came here. Glad I did! Food was awesome. But the beers are top notch!
Of note ABV should read 6.2 and 82 IBUs - per chalkboard.
Nice IPA with a great flavor! Sweet, citrusy... musky??? I don't know, but it was a solid IPA. Just get it.

Ordered the mug special--$10 for a 25 oz filled mug and you go home with the glass. The mug was for their dubbel Long Fang--which is evidently a online gaming reference that means something is cool or ???. While the very nice waitress explained the reference to me--I don't remember enough of it to relay it hear. Nice glass though, and took it home to drink bombers of homebrew.

Amber IPA with shimmering red highlights back lit by the plasma TVs with three different football games on. Ever so slightly off white head that falls with a nice lace. Muddled malt, biscuit, toffee, caramel and grapefruit in the nose. Good caramel and malt base with a good hop bit as well in the taste--slightly metallic and vegetal taste lingering underneath. Adequate IPA for the moment, but I'm not a fanboy.

Pours a great mid-deep copper color with nice head and very nice lacing throughout. Nice deep malt backbone for a sweet scent, and a nice citrus-floral hop aroma in the nose. Great flavor, with a great malt sweetness, slight caramel flavor, and a wonderfully excellent citrus (centennial) hop finish that has a great lasting aftertaste. Goes down quite smoothly, with just a bit of hop roughness.
