Smaller deli, located just a few blocks from neighborhood heavy hitters the Gate and Bier Craft. The beer is located along the rear of the store, in cooler units. Selection here is quite limited compared to at least a half a dozen places within a 5-10 minute. The've got the basics options that are literally available everywhere in this neighborhood and they go nowhere beyond that. A non listed store about a block away crushes this place, with a load of quality bombers not available at 5th ave Gourmet.
This place will do in a serious pinch, but if youve got a few minutes, you can find a lot of better options.

Yet another corner grocery on 5th Avenue in Brooklyn, let another good stop for craft beer. I really do envy the people that live around here for their available options!
It's a smallish grocery and you're not going to go in expecting much. That said, it's a nice enough store with a pretty straightforward setup. Coolers are in the back and they are stocked with a fine selection of brews.
Everything is kept in the coolers, so there's no temperature issues here. The only thing that could potentially be a problem would be the florescent lighting, but that's why you pick from the back of the rack whenever possible! Most everything is within reasonable freshness, so that's a plus. Selection is quite good for the area. Lots of good breweries represented like Goose Island, Pretty Things, Victory, Duvel and many more. Mostly 12oz bottles in packs, but there are a few bigger bottles to be found as well.
Pricing is quite reasonable, with everything being affordable; nothing's prohibitively expensive. Very good value for the beers available.
Service is average. Nobody asked if I was looking for anything in particular, but then again, this is just a corner grocery store, I didn't really expect anything much in the way of service. The people I passed and the ones running the counter were polite enough, though.
One the whole, a decent place to stock up on some good craft beer. There are still places in Brooklyn with a better selection, but if you live in the area, this place isn't a bad way to go.
