Had this on tap at Flat 12 and also in a bomber that we brought home from them. Evaluated this on 10/4/2011.
The color is lovely - medium yellow amber, very clear with a slight white head the way it was poured from the bomber. Probably different on-tap =)
A heady scent of pineapple, lemon and mango, with a slight musk that I associate with Galaxy hops. Clean and citrusy!
The taste very much holds with the scent - Mango, lemon and pineapple yielding to a dry bitter musky hop finish. Some very slight yeast/bread on the exist. Very clean, with medium body and very little carbonation.
If I had to choose a beer that was satisfying but not something that pummels my taste buds into the ground for daily drinking (other than my beloved porters), it would be this one. I really enjoy the Galaxy hops that have been coming forth in craft beers lately, and this is an excellent example of this hop at its finest.

(Served in a bowtie glass)
A- This beer pours a clear deep orange body with a thin film of white head that fades to a ring pretty quickly. There is a sluggish carbonation of tiny bubbles.
S- The rich apricot jam hops aroma is wonderful but a bit muted and there is some soft papery green hop notes in the finish. Some fruit cocktail hints grow as it opens.
T- The apricot jam hops are dry and wonderful. There is an unripe fruit cocktail flavor to follow with a light toasted graham malt hint popping through. The finish has a nice green pungency that lingers softly after each sip.
M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz finish that compliments the hop pungency.
O- This has a great aroma and a great flavor of that classic Galaxy hop. It is just a bit too soft and leaves me wanting more. As it warms, it does get a bit to dry in the finish that takes away from the nice malt character. Just turn it up a bit and this would be a rock star beer.

Had a growler filled at the Filling Station in Nashville yesterday.Pours into an impy nonic a clear medium golden with a nice looking sticky white one finger head, good clarity to the body and a nice looking sticky head.Nice hop complexity in the nose with a mix of leafy, grassy, and mild pine resin intertwined with a caramel maltiness.Again good hop compleity on the palate with the pine resin a little more assertive but the grassyy and herbal components are stille there, there is a mix of caramel/biscuit and crystal sugar-like sweetness to make it semi balanced. This is a damn fine APA,just great complexity and fresh tasting, top notch here.

Pours a fairly clear golden-amber. Average head of off-white suds. Attractive tree-line lacing.
Nose is immediately recognizable -- aromatic Aussie hops with a spiky, sharp, and floral earthiness. Superb.
Taste is also wonderfully brisk and sharp, with notes of bitter grapefruit and earth again. A superlative pale ale that could easily be classified as an IPA, I'd easily pick this up again!

12 oz. bottle poured into a Dogfish Head IPA glass.
Appearance: Pours a slightly couldy pale gold with a one-inch white head. Leaves a nice lacing down the glass.
Smell: Strong dose of citrus hops up front - grapefruit, tangelo, clementine. A little bit of tropical fruit as well. Very pungent and juicy hop presence for a pale ale. Better hop presence than a large number of IPA's out there.
Taste: As far as pale ales go, this is once again exploding with hop flavor. Huge grapefruit and tangelo flavors along with a bit of papaya. Very mild onion on the finish, which is a fairly minor complaint, but still holds the beer back a bit. Very high perceived bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Very. very dry. Bitterness dries the palate considerably. Light bodied, appropriately medium-high carbonation.
Overall: I love galaxy hops. As far as the extent to which this beer delivers overall hop presence it's on the same level as Zombie Dust. It's a little bit...messier for lack of a better word. Regardless, this is a truly excellent pale ale.

Had a 16oz pour at 800 degree in Ft. Wayne, IN. $4.50 for a pint.
A: Whoa, didn't expect a perfect glow like this. It's an orange clear copper with a golden hue. Lacing is wonderful.
S: grapefruit, tangerine, orange, with a bit of sweet malt. Definitely hoppy and piney.
T: Orange, grapefruit, bready malt, with no detection of alcohol. Really clean with a nice citrusy finish.
M: Medium body and refreshing. Carbs are spot on. Nice dry finish that makes you want to take a few hundo more sips.
Flat 12 is the best brewery in Indy-hands down!! I hope they bottle this masterpiece.

Just recently bottled, I was glad to see this at a local package store. Poured a clear, golden-amber with a quickly receding foamy white-head.
A very forceful aroma of bittersweet tropical fruit greeted me upon opening the bottle. The aroma seemed to promise an aggresive flavor profile.
There is no doubt this is a hop forward ale as the galaxy hop's bitter, citrusy flavor attacke the palate. For balance there is a nice but faint malty-buttery aftertaste. This is a showcase for the galaxy hop, and unfortunately detracted a little from the overall tasting experience. For my palate, the hop was simply a little too bitter and not enough fruity citrus; but that is personal preference as other reviewers seemed very impressed.
The body was somewhat thin but soft with surprisingly restrained carbonation. While the aftertaste has some malt, the bitterness always lingers.
This is the second ale I have tried from this brewery, and I enjoyed both. The Australian hop featured in this ale is quite refreshing and unique.
