Pours into a standard pint glass a deep roasted chesnut brown with a huge overflowing tan colored head, the glass is three quarters head and a quarter beer, somwething went wrong here just way to over carbonated.Aromas are deeply chocolaty with good roast as well, some earth and even a hint of mint. The feel is very prickly and sharp wich takes away from a really good flavor profile.Flavors of bitter chcolate and earthy with some light brown sugar-like sweetness.Something is obviously up with my bottle because you can tell this is a quality porter.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.
Appearance: Pours near black with ruby highlights and a thin off-white head.
Smell: Roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel. Very good roasted malt presence, which I love to see in a porter.
Taste: Roasted malt, dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, roasted malt. In case you needed further clarification, this has a lot of roasted malt. Exactly how I like my porters. Finish is bittersweet chocolate with a very slight acidic twang (along with more roasted malt).
Mouthfeel: The only thing that comes off a bit weak in this beer. It's fairly watery. A little bit more body would stand up to the heavy roast character a bit better in my opinion. Medium carbonation. Dry finish.
Overall: This was the first beer from Flat 12 I ever tried, and it impressed me in a big way. One of the better porters on the market in my opinion.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a quarter inch tan head that went away quickly. There's a decent amount of lacing. The aroma is nice, it smells like roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of coffee. The brew tastes like roasted/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, nuts and some light hops. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's creamy and easy to drink with moderate carbonation. I think this is a good overall porter, I know I'd buy it again. Definitely worth trying!

Pours a dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-tan color. Decent retention and good lacing. Smells of hops, sweet malt, roasted malt, hint of chocolate, slight pine, and a hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, slight sweet malt, dark chocolate, hops, slight pine, and a hint of pale malt. Overall, good aroma, body, blend, and complexity.

Bottle from CWBlues, thanks bud! 12oz into a tulip.
Fairly black with a tan head, decent lacing and a film of retention. Nose of coffee, chocolate and chocolate dipped waffle cones. A bit of Coffee Crisp centres, but not espresso. Taste has bitter coffee, a light creamy character, some bitter hopping, with a long roasty finish. Medium body that fits this very well, and medium low carbonation. A very easy drinking porter, wish this was local to me.
