22 oz bottle. Six or eight bucks from Neds.
Appearance: Beautifully clear golden orange color with a just off white head. Nice head retention and lacing.
Smell: Not impressed. Piney hops, but not a powerful load. There's a bit of wet grain or earth aroma and some estery fruitiness which doesnt belong at all.
Taste: Better than the smell, by a lot, but still not too great for a DIPA. Its got a nice sharp, but not harsh piney bitterness and a decent pale malt sweetness that rounds out the middle. Finishes dry and bitter, in a good way. There's a bit of estery flavor too-- not fruity hops, but an estery off flavor as if it fermented hot.
Mouthfeel: Can't knock it. Appropriate carbonation, slick, good dry finish.
Overall: I'd never even heard of this brewery when I got this, and now I'm not excited about trying anything else of theirs. It doesnt taste bad, just weird.

Bottle from Binhamton Beer Depot. From notes.
A - Poured bright and slightly dark golden. Two fingers of white head on top with good carbonation coming up. Great drapes of lace and a film of retention.
S - Big citrus, peach, orange, grapefruit, pine. All hops. Nice stuff.
T - Orange, citrus, peach, grapefruit, pineapple. Not much malt to speak of. Good hop complexity though, and quite tasty. Mild alcoholic note.
M - Nice carbonation. Full body is quite nice. Bitterness isn't gripping but present.
O/D - Well put together DIPA. No flaws to speak of really. Not flashy, just well made.

Straight pour from a 22oz pry-off bottle to my DFH IPA glass; no bottle dating, but I picked this up after a week of first sighting it in this area, so it’s not unreasonable to assume that it’s more or less as fresh as it’s going to get.
Appearance (4.5): Coming off the pour are four solid fingers of cream-colored foam, dying down slowly to a thick little puck with a raised surface on the surface of the beer, capping a bright golden body that’s nearly crystal clear. Coarse bubbles streaming to the surface here and there. The head leaves fat, wide splotches of foam and lace all around the glass as it goes down.
Smell (4.0): Veeery nice notes of papaya and dank resin, some warm caramel tones, and freshly toasted wheat bread. There is also some really nice, dusty hay aroma that comes out of the glass, mixing with some floral, somewhat grassy tones.
Taste (3.75): Interesting mix of candied orange peel, some nicely bitter pine resin, sweet but not cloying mango nectar, and toasted, bready malt. The pine resin comes through to the finish with a dank bitterness, which comes off as moderate at best, but still respectable. The malt is moderately restrained but keeps the mix of caramel and toasted, multigrain bread from the nose. No alcohol or yeast notes detected.
Mouthfeel (3.5): Carbonation is restrained, leaving a modest foaming character with no prickling or tingling anywhere. There’s some booze and hop oil drying out that goes on, helping to keep it relatively light-feeling. Nothing syrupy, nothing dynamic either. Not bad, somewhat above average for the style. Three Heads has that tendency of so-so-ish for the mouthfeel in their other beers, too.
Overall (3.75): Tasty, for sure. But, it’s not quite on the level I was hoping. To be honest, it tastes like a pretty decent IPA—not quite as bombastic or punchy as a good DIPA, but still pretty solid. Sure is a looker, though. Glad to have tried. Always good to know that the locals are making decent beer and trying new stuff.

Clear copper color. Very minimal lingering head.
Nose has a slight bitterness, but it's floral and light. Hardly any punchy notes in the aroma.
Flat, smooth, and simple flavor that offers very little surprises departing from the smell.
Slight hits of sharp flavor develop on the palate after every sip you take, but ultimately, the ABV does nothing to demonstrate its potency throughout the beer.
Probably one of the mildest, most underwhelming double-IPAs I've tried, but certainly elegant, flavorful and enjoyable for someone who might not be a huge fan of Imperials.

A - Pours a bright and clear copper color with minimal lacing and leaves a soapy ring and light layer.
S - Very earthy and weak.
T - Earthy and floral bitterness with light caramel malt base, end with spicy floral and pepper. Light lingering bitterness.
M - Full medium body, lots of mild pricklies.
O - Nothing complex or over the top but a very solid tasting and straight forward D-IPA.

A: Pours a golden yellow color with a fingers worth of head. Leaves sheets of lacing
S: Strong notes of citrus and pine from the hops, along with a moderate malt backbone that lends some spiciness and bready notes. Light alcohol
T: A little maltier than the nose leads on, but very well balanced. Starts off with a hit of pine and citrus and goes into a light spiciness from the alcohol. Finishes bready and bitter
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy and smooth. Probably the highlight of the beer
O: A very well balanced DIPA with plenty of hoppy goodness and maltiness to back it up. Very easy to drink, and fairly refreshing too. A nice bump-up from The Kind. Recommended

$9.00 bomber from Abe's.
A very hazy orange body, topped by three fingers of white loose bubbly froth.
Mild aroma of orange and pine. Not very aggressive, but enjoyable.
Big strong caramely malt foundation coats the tongue like wet cement. Bushels of oranges rolling down of carpet of pine branches. Aggressive bitter bite comes, snaps, and flees.
Medium plus mouthfeel is thick and smooth.
A solid and enjoyable DIPA..

Not exactly the stereotype hop bomb, powerful DIPA. More like a smooth, mild English IPA, but still a good beer.
Poured a light copper color into a pint glass. Medium size white head/average retention and small amount of lacing.
Smell is primarily bready malts with a little piney hops thrown in.
Taste is somewhat balanced. The prime flavor is bready malts, slightly sweet, but there is also a piney, resinous hops presence in the finish. Nicely balanced, goes down very easy.
Mouthfeel is crisp and has enough bitterness in the finish. The 8.50% abv is hardly noticible. Goes down very easily.
A top notch DIPA??? No but still a nice easy sipping beer.

Thanks to Hoyt for bringing this one to me from NY
A - clear orange with a big, frothy, white head that has great retention
S - herbal, faintly piney, some faint malt
T - malt, faint sweetness like cake batter, herbal hop character, some pine, bitter finish
M - medium bodied, well carbonated
This is a really nice beer. I would like a slightly bigger malt backbone to balance the immense hop character, but this has balance nonetheless. The hops are pleasant and not overpowering. Despite the ABV this beer also has great drinkability. This is definitely worth a try.

Bottle sent to me by the ever generous ygtbsm94. Thanks dude.
The beer is golden sunrise with an inch of lasting white head. Hop and citrus aromas followed by sweet breads and fruity malts. Very juicy and resinous. Fresh squeezed oranges with some alcohol sweetness. Earth and maybe even mushrooms emerge a bit as the beer is allowed to warm. While not off, per se, it's a bit out of character for the style. Interesting mouthfeel. Bitter hops initially, then smooth and creamy mid to late palate. Certainly an interesting beer if nothing else.
