Bought bottle from the brewery in Germany in April, let sit in the fridge until November. Has 26 06 09 Printed on the back.

A: Completely transparent, large-bubbled fizzy head that dissipates immediately. It looks extremely overcarbonated, like an energy drink, even after 3 minutes. No lacing.

S: Nice strong barley smell like most German light beer. Hops are nice and strong as well. Slightly sweet. Not much complexity.

T: Nice sweet barley flavor, lots of yeast, very bready. Not toasted at all, though. Hops are nice and bitter on the tongue. Very clean flavor. Hops stick with you after swallowing. This is exactly what I expect a German light beer to taste like.

M: A little overcarbonated, but it goes with the style for the most part. Slightly syrupy, but not too much. Non-astringent. Medium-body.

D: Drinks easily, especially from a large mug.

By looking at this brew, one would say this is a decent pils. The body is ultra filtered with a clear and golden looking body. The head produced is massive, with clumpy a white appearance.

The aroma is arid and newly mown hay like, with the taste being herbal and bitter. The texture is ultra smooth and very thirst quenching. Altogether though, it's a bit average as with the rest of the brews I've sampled from this brewery. They're all relatively cookie cut and boring.

Yellow to greenish, very clean, almost no bubbles. Quite ugly head, indeed. White, but...
In the smell quite fresh hop, deliacte. A touch of background honey.
In the taste hop again, but more honey notes, and white flowers, and camomile.
Well balanced, pleasant. To drink and drink.
A good hop in the aftertaste, average dryiness. Great drinkability.

I haven't plunked down the $5 (retail) for a bottle of this yet so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the guest tap list at Barley John's. For what it's worth I am a Pilsener fan: German, Czech, and far-flung stylistic derivatives of the Pilsener Style make my taste buds jump for joy and my foggy old memory-bank happier than a pig in shit . . . I grew up on this style. Pours a brilliant pale gold, topped with a clean white head, rocky and slightly lava-floe-esque. Head is medium duration, and lacing is on par for the style. The nose exhibits a classic Pils profile, with floral aromatic hops of the variety native to Germany, Harsbrucker and Tettnanger (unless I've been out in the sun too long : ) I drink plenty of the good, cheap stuff (BITburger) on a regular basis so I was pleasantly surprised by how soft this was on the palate, but on the other hand for a beer of this caliber I'd be disappointed with anything less.
Nice and dry, but with a light note of fruit (pear) in the middle, and a very mild, lingering bitterness. A perfect example of the style, and perfect on a warm summer afternoon.

The head is very dense on a pale golden transparent body. The smell is mostly grainy. So is the taste. Grainy. The hops come in a rather unbalanced way and leave a bad aftertaste. Something tastes old in this beer and makes it kind of unpleasing. The mouthfeel is smooth but there really isn't anything special in this beer, and I won't have it again.
