22 oz bottle, served in FW Barrelworks teku
A - Pours thick dark black, with a 3 finger dark coffee head. This is one dark and thick beer, very impressive on the pour, you can not deny it.
S - Toasted dark malts, bitter chocolate, dark fruit and burnt molasses. Smoked meats are a minor tone.
T - Sweet and roasty, hints of burnt sugar, rum, molasses and dark fruits through out.
M -Thick, viscous, and most definitely chewy. Coats throughout, this one saturates the palate. Nothing thin here.
O - Rather enjoyable, hits all the right notes for an Imperial Stout. Would definitely recommend and seek out again.

A: Wow, one of the thickest pours ever. It reminds me of 30,000 mile motor oil. 50W. In subzero temperatures. It doesn't even splash as I pour it, it's just a black hole of beer, absorbing the droplets that would have spattered. Jet black pour with the darkest head on a beer I've ever seen. Huge, thick head to boot. The head is so dark that it's indistinguishable from the liquid for a little bit. Even after the head has sat for a while it's still darker than 95% of other stouts. Head fades super slowly with great retention. Body is so dark it looks like it's staining the glass when you swirl it. Spotty little bits of lacing is the only reason this doesn't get a 5. Only beer that has a better appearance that I can recall, is CBS.
S: Heavy, heavy black patent malt. Dark fruits, anise, char, chocolate and coffee. All of it. Quite a bit smoke with some umami too. It's comically thick, swirling it for aroma looks like you're trying to swirl a glass of brownie batter. Surprisingly mellow aroma overall for a 12% IS.
T: Again with the heavy roasted malt character. Tastes a lot like it looks - brownie batter. Heavy dark chocolate with a little coffee initially. Fades into some anise and a little char. No real discernible dark fruits as in the aroma, maybe a flash of raisin and cherry here and there. Might be in my mind. Smokiness and umami are still there but very light, thankfully. Lots of dark chocolate in the finish. Sweet all the way through but not cloying somehow. A bit of stinging alcohol throughout and it warms the belly immediately. This is a big one. Lingering dark chocolate brownies in the aftertaste.
M: Ultra heavy body, perhaps one of the thickest beers I've ever tasted (and I've reviewed over 1000). I'm not being cute when I say it's like used motor oil or brownie batter - it literally is. Coats the mouth for a long time between sips. Smooth and creamy at the same time.
O: Very interesting. A seriously heavy beer. I've had much higher ABV stouts (WWS, chocolate rain, etc) but somehow this one feels like a ton of bricks. Gotta be the thickest beer I've seen, ten fidy has nothing on this. Great testament to roasted malt flavors, they're all here. It's complex in its simplicity. Having said that, I imagine a barrel treatment to cut this one a bit might put this one off the scale. Here's to hoping they do someday! Great dessert beer and Evil Twin's best beer by far. Just awesome.

Had 2 bottles of this wonder gem from Evil Twin the other day and I have to tell you,,
This thick pour of this Dark imperial stout had a nice brown head to it and was rich in its delivery..
Its honey and mollasses texture tasted of that rich, and a little heavy as a hint of coco and molasses kept on the back of the tongue.
what a great brew by evil twin , and I must say I can't wait to see what comes out next.
cheers , may I recommend, Evil Twin Ashtray heart, Evil Twin Soft DK, Evil Twin Lil B, and Evil Twin New Years eve at a Hotel Room

I've had this stashed away and avoided for so long but not anymore its time to unleash the beast and it pours a dark as night black hue with no head and sporadic lacing, the smell is port, funk, dark chocolate, roasted malts and booze, the mouthfeel is thick, full with minimal carbonation and has tastes of chocolate fudge, booze, caramel, herbal earthy hops and finished with a mocha bittersweetness and overall a very warming stout that's well appreciated on a cold night like tonight cheers.

330ml bottle. "He doesn't look a thing like Jesus..." And neither does this, other than the fractured English babble in the marketing spiel about mortality, godliness, and the typical qualities of a big-ass stout.
This beer pours a beautifully cascading black hole abyss, bereft of highlights and that thing called light, with three hefty fingers of densely foamy, tightly bubbly, solid brown head, which leaves some agreeably frenetic paint-splash lace around the glass as it very slowly sinks away.
It smells of sweet roasted caramel/toffee malt, well-ripened black fruit, thick, gooey dark chocolate, dark tropical sugar, milk-tempered coffee, and a further dry smokiness, all soused by a brandy-like booziness. The taste is more sweet, sugary caramel malt, a hint of treacle, a drunken plum and prune fruitiness, heavy chocolate pudding, over-sugared black coffee, a withering smoky astringency, and bristling warming alcohol.
The carbonation is tame, and frothy by the same measure, the body a heavy, dense, somewhat oily affair, with an attendant smoothness that belies the big ABV, not to mention the subtle malt-shop creaminess. It finishes on the veritably sweet side, the chocolate, creme caramel, and thick black fruit puree holding fast against the baying booze.
One hell of an Imperial stout, all those dessert-esque qualities doing a right good job in sublimating the well-elevated ABV. Even more this, and even more that, but I'm still at a loss in figuring out how they managed to work Jesus' name into all of this. Oh, right - people do that all the freaking time. Damned good beer though.

Bottle for the American market, bought from the De Molen webshop.
Poured with all the yeast.
Pours a very very dark brown, viscous.
Look pitch black in the glass with a dark mocca head that fades quickly.
Some carbonation visible as the foam is gone.
Smells very rich and complex.
Big roasted malts (British in a way), dark fruits (plums, dates, figs, raisins you name it) and coffee. A pretty big overall caramel/toffee sweetness. Vanilla. Burnt notes.
Tastes very good. Very sweet, Chocolate but also dark fruitiness. Yeah, delicious chocolate coated dark fruits (raising for example). Some burnt woodiness in there too. Pretty dry because of that. Coffee too, and dark (rye) bread. Good bitterness to balance the sweetness.
Very complex. The alcohol is noticable but it is pretty well hidden and adds to the beer.
Great mouthfeel on this one, more like creamy chocolate milk than beer. Rich and creamy.
Overall a really nice, very big imperial stout. Recommended.

A-silky black with less than a fingers worth of dark tan head that leaves a ring around the top
S-You could smell the roast as you were pouring the beer! Dark roasted coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a bit of smoke.
T-taste is similar to the smell with lots of roasted dark coffee and roasted malt with dark chocolate and light dark fruit and a char finish which at first was a bit off-putting but improved with warmth and time . Alcohol gives a nice warming.
M-full body, low to medium carbonation, a syrupy sweetness finishes with a bit of smoke
Overall a really flavorful, complex Imperial Stout, super expensive, but a nice special treat.

Drank on-tap at Tørst, Brooklyn, NY
Served in a wine glass
Dark, shimmery, oily, brown/black appearance. The liquid was topped by a creamy, one-finger crown of mocha colored froth. Streaks of drippy lacing coated the glass.
The nose was rich and robust. Strong roasted and chocolate malt notes. Dark fruits. Good dose of espresso. Some brown sugar sweetness.
The taste was similar to the aroma but more complex and intense. Loads of roasted and caramel malts appeared on the front end. Tons of dark chocolate. Intense dark fruit notes. Raisins and plums came through strongest. Hint of vanilla. Touch of roasty bitterness on the finish. At 12% ABV, the alcohol presence was remarkably well hidden.
While the flavor profile was excellent, the mouthfeel was simply the highlight of this beer. It was thick, rich and oily with a super frothy and smooth cabonation. Plush and pillowy soft.
Take an amazing beer and served it at a beer bar that has the most advanced draft system in the country, and you wind up with pure magic in a glass. What a truly memorable experience.
